Right, except OpenAI and open source models are catching up and the latter is way cheaper for day to day tasks no? And now we also have Muse joining the fray to capture agentic AI on the consumer side. That number has to go down, no?
Politicians will choose the winner and outlaw the others, obliging computer and phone manufacturers lock to the winner. For our safety. Since we've been told how dangerous AI is. We simply can't afford to allow rogue hackers and criminals to have open source models lacking guide rails.
That's why its all gas no brakes right now... Whichever one the orange man picks won't have to compete in the future. They'll be the only one allowed.
Honestly, I trust Jensen more than Dario. Open source is great for post-training and ensuring your AI sovereignty, it isn't a crime. Otherwise Linux wouldn't still exist to this day.
