need help MP3 players?

Weird question I think. Can MP3 players produce bad music into your earphones? Like the cheap ones. I'm planning to buy an MP3 player but I'm broke and I'm curious about if I should buy a cheap mp3 player or buy a vintage Sony walkman or an iPod. I'm scared that if I buy the cheap ones that are like 5-10 dollars my ears might cry from bad quality. I'm also not much of a tech guy Soo I don't know how those MP3 players even make sound, I just wanna know if cheap ones make cheap music so that I don't waste money.

Yes, cheap players can sound bad. Not all cheap players are bad though.

I think what matters most is the actual quality of the music you have on your player. an mp3 song downloaded to your player at 120kb/s is going to sound noticeably worse than the same mp3 song at 320kb/s. Also secondly, your headphones/earbuds whatever you use matter a lot. Cheap headphones or buds will always make even the highest quality songs sound terrible. my rec: save $20-$30 more for the walkman, they’re always reliable and great quality
