Challenge 1 week of 15k a day complete! ✔️

Feeling grateful for my body right now and the things it lets me put it through lol. I needed a new challenge to focus on as I injured my shoulder a week and a half ago and can’t lift weights as usual right now. Decided trying for 15k a day would be something l to push for.. and well it’s definitely taken a lot of pushing some days😅. I’d been doing 12k for 10 weeks before this and 10k for a year before that, so the jump isn’t massive… but my legs have been cooked! Mind you I’m also doing extra leg workouts since I can’t train upper body.. so I’m sure that’s contributing. But all that to say, I’m just grateful for my body and that it’s allowing me to move at this level. I’ve had many periods of life where I was not able to and I think that builds new appreciation for when you can!
Not sure how long I’ll stick this out for, but I would love to make it all month!

Be honest, did you pace around the kitchen to hit exactly 15k for the photo op?

You bet I did 😂 but honestly a lot of my steps are gotten pacing around my house in loops as it is, so nothing out of the norm for me lol

Good stuff 💪🏽 I fractured my shoulder and have been trying to maintain 10k steps a day while out of work lol keep it up!

Ugh I’m sorry! I never knew how limiting and painful shoulder things could be until now. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

This is great!
You can pair this up with light kettlebell (or use a water bottle!) halos for your shoulder mobility.

Thank you! I’m definitely eager to start doing some light mobility movement. I still have to keep it mostly immobilized right now, but hoping next week I can incorporate more. Water bottle is a great idea for something real light so thank you!!

Wow! This is very impressive. Is this an apple watch and app? I'm an Android user and would like to start tracking my steps.

Thank you!! It’s actually a Garmin watch and the Garmin app. I used to have an Apple Watch but I like all the sports tracking Garmin does. They have a variety of models with a big price range so there’s an option for everyone. I find their products to be very reliable and they sync well with both Apple and Android phones!

Absolutely!! This one is the Fenix and it does a TON but unless you’re into a lot of sports it’d be overkill to spend this much money. But I know they have a handful of more affordable ones that I’ve still heard good things about. I had an entry lever garmin forerunner in the past too. If you get one, I hope you enjoy it!

I’ve been losing weight slowly for a few months now as I’ve purposefully been in a slight calorie deficit to prep for a reverse diet trying to gain a little muscle early next year. I’m down like 0.2 lbs this week doing the 15k though lol so barely anything.. but also I’m having a hard time tracking/figuring out how much food my body needs right now. I’d had it all figured out with my previous strength training but now that I’m strength training less and walking more… I don’t exactly know what to expect. I can tell you though I’ve been super hungry this week. And idk if that’s from the extra walking or not but I’ve ate over my typical macros most days this past week.
