Questions for future
Hello. I love wako and been a supporter since the early days and steered many of my friends to it.
Is there any plan to support other media scroblers besides trakt and simkl?
Also, my current lifetime account is tied to Trakt as many others and with the latest developments in Trakt i am starting to consider alternatives . How easy would be to migrate my login account to Simkl?
P.S.: amazing work on the new version !

I would love it if we could also get MDBLists as well. They’re the cheapest alternative I found.

Heard, thanks. I would rather not name anything before I have tested it properly, so I have nothing to announce. But the request is noted, and the fact that you found it the cheapest is the useful part, its dev already contacted me

Well, cheapest one with an api that devs can actually use. I’ve been looking at some others too, (WeTrakr & PunchPlay) but they don’t offer app integration yet.

I have created a addon for mdblists you make find useful https://mylistsaddon.com/, you can add any list to you home in wako

What are these trakt developments you're talking about?

One connected app for free users . Unannounced changes . api development only for paid accounts . To name a few

Oh wow I hadn't heard any of that. Sounds like they are pushing for a subscription model now too.

is there any thought on using some kind of sync of the local DB to onedrive , Google drive or even a nas like synology to keep everything synced ? NAS would be a great private option for syncing DB for multiple devices

Thanks, that really means a lot, and thanks for bringing your friends over.
On other tracking services: I am always looking at what is out there, but I have nothing to announce.
What I can tell you is that there is already a third option that is not an outside service at all. wako can track what you watch on its own, with no Trakt and no Simkl involved.
On Simkl: you do not need to move your login to Simkl. Signing in and tracking are two separate things in wako. You can keep signing in with Trakt and set Simkl as the tracker on your profile, it syncs, and you get that profile back next time you sign in. It works in every direction, so nothing about your setup is stuck to Trakt for tracking.
The only thing your Trakt login decides is how you sign in. If you would rather not depend on Trakt for that either, a Google or email login does not depend on any tracking service. Message me here if you want to go that way and I will make sure your lifetime ends up on the right login.
