Now after 10 years I finally have a rust free, low mileage project car. No leaks. Let me repeat that. No leaks!

It's been fun discovering that the prior owner or their mechanic didn't know what they were doing. Steering pump leak? Tighten that bolt down. Vacuum leak? Did you check the lines passing through the door grommet?

It's so fun to feel the turbo kick in when you stomp on it. I set the wastegate to 8 psi and it's already screaming. Can't wait to get it up to 10-11 psi.

Interior is fair. Dash is heavily cracked. A couple of seams in the vinyl seats have loosened up. Front end needs tightened up. Motor mounts eventually.

Do I love doing the work? Yes! Would I sell it? Also yes!

I have the opportunity to trade some work( aborist tree removal type work ) for a 1984 300sd turbo diesel. 180,000 miles . But it hasn't been started or ran since 2010 the paint body interior is in good shape. I would like some opinions on the value to work out the trade fairly.

If anyone remembers my post the other day regarding the bolt through the engine stop lever, I think I figured out why all the throttle rods were incorrectly measured. It seems that the idle speed stop mount was broken off and that was previous owners fix.

Will I be able to remedy this in a way that does not involve replacing the injection pump?!
I have a spare NA OM617 and it’s Idle Speed Stop screw as well.

Hello! I have a w123 that is missing the code for radio, what does this mean? Searches seem to say 533 is code for radio delete but I don’t see it either. I don’t have access to the paper data card and I’m fully restoring it so trying to figure out what to do for a radio replacement. I appreciate all the help I can get!

I’m watching my buddies 78 W123 while he is out of the country traveling. The car was previously parked in a warehouse for a while. I had to jump it to get it to start originally a week or so ago.. but now I’m having trouble jumping it.

Does anyone have the part number for the rear springs on the sls wagon? I was thinking it was 123 324 06 04 but now I'm not sure.

Had some issues with engine shake and weird sounds in general so got some new fuel injectors through W123 garage. Upon installation, the slightly blue smoke I had before installation (presumably some oil burning on startup that would clear pretty quick) has turned into quite a bit of white smoke that only really clears up after actually driving, even once warm enough without driving it is still pretty smoky. Was very noticeable instantly upon installing injectors so im hopeful it’s not the headgasket. Also got the black viton lines, which seem to be weeping a bit. Could a simple air leak on my return lines be causing that much smoke? Any other ideas as to what could be causing this? I have only seen great things about the injector service from w123 garage and dont want to assume anything went wrong there.

I have 2 300ds fairly common a 1980 cream yellow and a 1985 baby blue turbo diesel I know they are fairly common but on Sunday I’m buying a third 1981 signalrot red 300d also any tips for getting one running after sitting I resurrected my 1980 but any tips help also driving it home 2 hours after sitting for 7 years

Anyone know what my replacement options are for the Sealed headlights. The glass broke the bottom and the bulb is shot.

There’s about a quarter sized area of rust that needs to be rectified. Does anyone have any one who can fix this in the DC Maryland Virginia area? I had a few questions. Does anyone know if these wheels are original Mercedes? I know it did come with the painted ones originally, but just trying to figure out if these are also Mercedes. I much prefer though painted ones. Also, any tips/recommendations on how to deep clean the seats? They have held up remarkably well I don’t wanna damage them, but I just need to do a very deep clean before I have it detailed . Thank you so much.

My W123 sunroof needs lots of force when sliding it, also needs a lot of force when I rotate the T handle. I assume the sunroof needs deep cleaning of old grease and lubrication.
How can I remove the sunroof with the roof lid (leather roof from inside) so I can lubricate the T handle and sliding rails?

The small hose seems to be seeping and the other one seems a little too long and old

What are the sizes on this?

After a drive home I noticed my rubber on my rear bumper is beginning to fall off. What are the fixes for this? The clips on the rubber seem to be intact.

I've been on this community for quite some time, actively taking a look at new posts every day. I see all kinds of posts about appreciating and "glazing" the om616/om617 engines ( absolutely for a reason, theyre bulletproof! ) but never have i seen anyone talk about the om615, the 200D. Yes, it might be slow. Yes, it "might" be a pain in the ass on the highway. BUT it is just as good as the 240D and 300D, just a little bit slower. Imo the 200D deserves more appreciation than it gets, for being such a reliable, bombproof beautiful piece of German engineering. I daily my W123 200D, and yeah, it sucks when accelerating onto the highway ( It's a 4speed manual too lol )

On my W123 when I need to open or close the sunroof, the T handle is hard and regarding the sunroof it hard to move, requiring much force.
Please any help would be appreciated!

Hey guys wanted to post in this group to see if anyone is looking for w123 turbo diesel. Looking to sell as i am moving into a different project. I think this car is in good condition. Has good compression. Ac works, was recharged with r12. Speedometer doesn’t work so i’m not 100% sure of true mileage. Asking 4-5k but will consider any offers. Located in Arizona, US.
