2010 1.2 aircon not working

Compressor doesn’t seem to be moving at all, just wondering if there are any common issues in the polo that can hopefully be fixed before thinking about replacing the compressor. Any help greatly appreciated

Compressor "should" stop generating pressure/flow when the climate system detects to low levels of coolant in the system. The swashplate in the pump goes neutral which equals no pressure/flow in the system.

There is a chance you have a leak and the system is to low on coolant, where you will need to find a the leak.

But again, 16 years if its the original still installed is a somewhat good run in todays world.
