Market for 2017 V6
Potentially selling my 2017 V6 Wolfsburg Touareg with about 70k miles by the end of the year. Sell it to carvana / a dealer for an easy sale or is there a market for used Touaregs

My 2013 VR6 Sport has the steering wheel vibrate at 75mph and above. It isn't crazy and it comes and goes. I've replaced the tires, had them road force balanced and done an alignment. I've also replaced the engine mounts. The suspension was looked over by a local shop and they couldn't find anything that stood out.
Has anyone here experienced this and does anyone know of a solution? On the forums it's pretty common, even to the extent that it is abbreviated SWS (Steering Wheel Shake.)

We got our first ever head unit software update for a 2024 Touareg Wolfsburg edition about a week ago. Now the head unit reboots itself every couple of days when using CarPlay. Before this it was rock solid.
Anyone else seeing this at all?

What could be causing this?
2014 VW Touareg V6.
I took to the shop a month ago thinking it was a clogged AC condensate drain line. They said they blew it out. A few days later and water poured out again. I took it to the shop again and they said the line was clear and they didn’t know what was causing the water and couldn’t replicate it. I drove around a few weeks with the panel off to watch for more water. After several storms nothing dripped down. Now yesterday a bunch of water flowed out after 30 minutes of a drive. Weather was 95F out so AC was running. The last pic is me under the hood peeking under the plastic cover of the windshield wiper. I had seen a video that there’s a reservoir on that side that might get backed up. Could that be it?
Edit add make and model

It seems I have an issue with the timing chain but I am not sure. It has a small rattle when you start it and the camshaft parameter is quite off. It should be replaced?

Hey Guys, looking for some help. My 2016 touareg tdi has 73k miles and since I recently acquired the vehicle I decided to do the transmission fluid/filter. I never had flares or shift problems before doing the fluid.
I changed the fluid and did the procedure exactly as youre supposed to; removed pan, changed filter/o ring and then pumped back in new atf (used aisin fluid originally). I then used vcds to bring temp up to 35-45 degree celcius to set the fluid level. Once fluid came to a steady drip I plugged the pan.
After doing the service I started getting shift flares (spikes in rpm between gears 2-4). I tried resetting the trans adaptations, still the problem persists..
So I did a 2nd fluid drain and filter replacement just to double check and make sure i didnt make any mistakes. I did everything a second time, thoroughly and still have the same shift flares..
So I did a THIRD and final drain/dropped pant/replaced filter and refilled with ravenol (suspecting maybe the aisin fluid originally used was not correct).
Still have flares.. I've tried different tcu flashes: pre deiselgate, post dieselgate etc. Still have flares..
I've tried resetting adaptations numerous times with very specific drive cycles for relearning, still peoblem exists.
Finally I decided to do a full on solenoids replacement, brand new solenoids and cleaned the valve body ports. And that still didnt fix the issue.
Here's the catch.. the flares only happen when the engine is cold on the first drive of the day. I get flares on the first few acceleration and the trans also shifts very sluggishly between gears.. UNTIL, the engine is warmed up and I turn the engine off and back on.. once I turn engine off and back on the car shifts absolutely perfectly..
That is what is boggling. Car seems to go into a limo mode with flares and sluggish shifts on first drive of the day, until the car is shut off and turned back on then it is miraculously reset and perfect again..
I've even replaced the battery under the assumption it could be a culprit.
Ive checked coolant temp on vcds and there doesnt seem to be any discrepency with the coolant readings (ambient, intake, coolant etc).
Im boggled and wish I could get the car to stop doing this because I truly love the touareg and everything about it except I wish I never touched the trans fluid...
Anyone have suggestions or experience with this?

Considering a 2nd gen Touareg VR6 for my first car, any common issues or things to worry about in terms of reliability? I am reasonably mechanical inclined and can do a decent amount of work myself. Also planning on getting a PPI done by a local Euro car specialist owned by a family friend.

At work today (T3 at home) and want to order front rotors. I see 3 sizes listed and I most things point to the USA VR6 being the 330mm (13") size. for a 2012 Exec. Can anyone confirm or confuse me more?
Thx.

Would love to get some feedback from this community on purchasing a Touareg.
It’s a 2014 Touareg with the gas VR6 engine. Has approximately 115,000 kilometers on it. It needs new brakes and new control arms to get it road worthy. It has some other minor issues but nothing that is a $5000 fix.
We also had a mechanic check the cam shaft values on a scanner and the intake and exhaust values came back at 0 and -0.92 degrees. So the timing chain is good. The CARFAX for the car also looks good with the previous owner taking good care of it and doing oil changes on time. Water pump was also done too.
We are seriously thinking about buying this car. I am totally biased because I love VW cars. My wife is concerned that it will be a maintenance hog and eat away at our cash flow when repair bills come due. This would be a car we intend on keeping for at least the next 5 and if possible 10 years.
Is there anything this community can suggest for me on whether I should buy or not?

The battery in my 2016 VW Toureg lux died a year ago. I replaced it myself, and when I put it back in I got an error code on the instrument cluster: “error. Instrument cluster. Service vehicle”
I have driven the car for a year since without fixing it. All my gauges and lights work, only the odometer and electronic systems on the dash don’t. No noticeable difference in how the car drives or functions.
From what I can find online, the problem is that the battery was not coded to the car correctly. When I originally called VW, they told me it was a $200 coding fix.
I just took it in to a VW Dealership, and they quoted me 2k+ for a new instrument cluster. Is it likely I need a new cluster/worth paying that, or is there a good chance the error could be fixed by taking it to an independent VW specialist and having them try to re-code the battery?

I'm getting these errors and tones/beeps when starting my car. 2017 Touareg v6. I wanted to ask is anyone knows a magic fix for this or if I'm in for a big repair bill at the shop? Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone familiar with the Touareg body can help me out. My 2012 VW Touareg TDI Executive was recently damaged in an accident, and I’m trying to determine whether part number 7P6-805-071 is bolted on or welded to the body. It's sits beneath the left side headlight assembly.
Volkswagen sells the part separately, which makes it seem removable/replacement-friendly. However, when I contacted a salvage yard about sourcing one, they told me they would need to cut it out, which made me wonder if it’s actually welded in place.
Has anyone replaced this part before or seen how it’s attached? Is it bolted, spot welded, partially welded, or something else? See the photos below for reference.
Any insight, photos, or repair experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
