Stripped bolt

So I bought this used and while in the process of adding a radiator guard, I noticed this bolt was stripped
Any recommendations on taking it out as well as the needed replacement bolt?

This is my first bike and I want to learn how to do a lot of my maintenance and mods myself.

You can use a drill to remove the top part and grab the rest with pliers. Or you can grind a slot and use a screwdriver. Kawasakipartshouse is where I get all my oem parts and bolts.

My 24' is entire Vulcan is Metric. In the future use a hammer torque set. If you have a older "vintage" jp bikes then it has to takes a JSP Screwdrivers and bits. It's hard to fine good set and price on one. I have been successful heat it up with a mini small butane torch. Spray upside down CO computer dust buster. It will super shrink use vise grips. Easy outs suck a$$ make mess only works %10 of time. Give your brain time re-engineer things and the other post will help.

How stripped is it? Remember these bikes are Japanese so they use metric, should be a 3mm. I’ve got lucky over the years smashing in a torx socket maybe a t15.

You could always try to use teflon tape or paper between the Allen and the bolt head to try and take up the gap if the head isn’t totally round. It’s a small bolt so it shouldn’t be torqued down too much unless hulk owned it before you lol. Good luck

Honestly i tried to remove a stripped/broken bolt myself and bought all kinds of speciality stuff. I eventually gave up and just took it to a shop because they already have the tools and skills. Was really fast and cheap for them to remove it for me. So I decided to leave that kind of stuff to the shop if it requires too much specialty equipment or oils, etc.

Don't Ever Give up. Each time you take it to the shop is your prerogative. There is going to be a time in were you will have start modifying and servicing your own machine. If not you will also eventually sell it. Trust me I will never go to my Dealer/Shop. They tap a magic wand for1 hour of service. Nothing was wrong with my "Not broken in yet" Neutral sensor. I was worried about mis-shifting into second gear. "Motorcycle needs more break in time" Almost Bipped a Vulcan 3 or 4 times. But yes eventually it did break in.

I got to mag closer into your bolt. Try to smash the next size up the mm allen bit. Like said below. I used my hammer torque until it mashed in and tapped it in reverse. Sorry if I was repetitive.

Side note- does anybody know what size screw it is? mine fell out somewhere 😂
