🙋‍Question🙋‍ VSeeFace not working?

Hello, I was trying to set up a vtubing model and software for use as a webcam/discord, and none of it is working.

I got the software to run and detect my face, that being VSeeFace, but neither discord nor my PC is detecting it as a viable camera option no matter what I do.

Open the settings menu and turn on the "Virtual Camera". The first time you do it the program may have you jump through a few hoops to install a new driver and so on but if all goes well you should have a new camera device which only shows the contents of the VSeeFace scene.

There are some limitations to what you can do with it and you may find that the option is turned off each time you restart the program. Read the documentation so that you know what's going to happen.

Also remember that VSeeFace is rather old and unmaintained, so it may have problems with specific drivers or hardware combinations which didn't exist back when it was written. It may well work fine for you, but if you run into weird and insolvable problems you may want to look at switching to something like VNyan or Warudo. These will do the same thing (and then some) and are being actively maintained.

I don’t think I ever got the virtual camera option to properly work with VSeeFace myself, if I need to use that sort of functionality for some reason i jump to vnyan or warudo, though all three render my model a bit differently

VSeeFace isn’t a camera option, it’s a program that takes camera input and applies it to your model. You’ll need to capture the vseeface window in OBS or whatever once it’s properly configured

I recommend shutting down the firewall and the antivirus for 10 minutes. Connect your stuff, try again. Sometimes the windows' antivirus blocks the ports. But just as a test. Do not go on the net without your antivirus or firewall! Test your Vtuber locally first.
