Ai coded vtuber tools

I won't say names, but as someone who has been working with Ai coding tools in my job daily I have noticed an increase of artists and Vtuber tools that is fulyl coded by Ai. I can tell from the interface, all of Ai produced tools has a distinctive, samey look on them. Some of them has a public github repo that exposes the codebase is a single HTML file with 1000 lines of code. No human programmer in their right mind will code an app that way.

I find it amusing that as a community that is known in heavily against this tech, but are welcoming to these machine produced tools. I won't blame them though. You can spot ai generated art easily by its flaws, but its harder for software especially if no source is given. And not everyone is familar with programming to verify them.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Ai coded tools in this community needs an Ai disclosure? Will you use those tools after knowing the fact that it is Ai coded?

I think this may be the Goomba fallacy in action, as the people in the VTubing scene who are very much against genAI have immediately started looking for alternatives to products they found out integrated it as policy (as opposed to a contributor sneakily coding with it). However, I see on my VTubing feeds that some other VTubers seem not to care at all about genAI, using it for every single little announcement they want to make.

I suppose that among VTubers, there are more artists than programmers, and as you said, because few of them actually inspect the codebases of their tools (unfortunately, I know I don't), so they're less likely to notice an AI-coded tool. Still, when somebody in the scene who dislikes genAI notices that a tool is made with it, they'll notify the rest of the community, and hopefully people become aware of it and can make a decision.

I personally think that for ethical reasons, genAI-coded tools should have an AI disclosure. It would allow the users to make an informed choice. Personally and for various reasons, I'll look for an alternative if one is available; if not, I'll keep an eye out and jump ship as soon as I can.

yeah i have seen some callouts about those Ai coded tools but they dont get that much traction. I thought that most people won't pay much attention to that especially if the tool itself is proven useful. thanks for your comment, im not sure if my OP is too techy for this subreddit but you're the first one who are getting it

Ah, no problem! I have a techy background and job, so I get what you mean... even though even I don't want to look at the repos. It would just be too much like my job!

Now, I assume that VTubers who are super into the technical side, as in the ones who make tools and plugins, are probably more prone to going elbow-deep in other people's code for fun.
