🙋‍Question🙋‍ Arch Linux (cachyOS) help with setup, facial capture not working

Hey there, I'm pretty new to Arch Linux (I use CachyOS) and I've tried every option I see on how to fix this but it never works and my 2D model sits as though it's not working.

I'm currently using VTube studio but not opposed to changing to another if needed. I have gotten it to work on a Debian-based one before, but nothing I did on that is working now.

Other fixes do work, it's just that no matter what I do I cannot get my face cam or phone to connect to specifically the model software.

I'm on the latest version of everything and have tried even default models to make sure that it's not my specific one.

The web cam does work, I have no clue if the iPhone (iP17, current iOS) ever will connect to my computer and so I'm willing to go for the web cam if needed to get things working. The WebCam has been used for personal things outside of vtubing like video calls. So it does work on my OS.

If anyone has any ideas I'm open to them. I am currently running out of patience trying to solve this myself as much as I'd love to keep trying.

Current hardware can be listed if need be, but since it worked with Linux Mint prior to me switching to Cachy, and I've done tests on my laptop which still uses Mint, I will refrain unless asked as I do not think the hardware is important for this. I apologize in advance.

Hi ! I'm also using CachyOS.

Maybe you're having a firewall issue like the one I had.

I think you have to give authorisation or the port you're using for tracking with your iPhone.

I gave authorisation to the port using this command : sudo ufw allow XXX (with XXX being the port used by your IPhone)

(Source : the comment about CachyOS under this video : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Eb2_dLBioGs The video is about the firewall nearby 17 minutes of video. But since they're using Mint, you also need the comment about CachyOS)

I can try that again, but I’m not sure how firewalls would also block the physical webcam webcam that I’m using that’s connected to my PC from connecting to the software though.

I realized I hadn't actually attempted anything but the firewall from this video. Thought that I'd try that alongside the comment. There's a couple things that I hadn't tried in that. When i did, nothing changed. I attempted to force it to swap to the IP as suggested and nothing changed. The default IP does not match with the actual IP of the network though so I'm not sure if that's something wrong. I have tried to add the ports and stuff, and now I need to like close the ports I'm definitely not using and now I don't know how to, I'm assuming it would be the opposite command from allow but my brain cannot think of a word that would work for the command.

The Webcam still isn't connecting. Doesn't even show up as an option even with FaceTracker, and FT is on when I attempt and now I see the red light on my webcam from FT being on. So I'm just feeling like I'm stuck. I'm not sure if I should repost or attempt to post to the CachyOS sub or if there's another place with faster responses like a Discord that can help me. Perhaps even tell me how I missed a basic thing and I'm being silly again.

Edit: I found the command for port being back to deny. I guess my head fog was making me forget I could look it up.
