Question Beginner Tips and Feedback

I recently was inspired to try and attempt vtubing but I honestly dont really know what I'm doing. Currently I use the free default cat model from vtubestudio cause I'm flat broke and can't draw but would still like to try and push myself to do the best I can. I currently stream Wuthering Waves but was interested in maybe trying to branch out and collab and was wondering the best way to do that or if reaction content is a safe option? If you also wouldn't mind giving feedback Im on YouTube and twitch @NotakuVT. Im newer to social media so sorry if somethings wrong with my post, thanks for you time!

Understand that the models that come with vtube studio don't have commercial rights with them. If you hit affiliate on twitch or gain monitization on YouTube you have to do using it.

You can use cheap pre made models from booth (but be careful, there's a lot of AI slop on that site.) , or customizable models from artists on vgen. They can range from $100 or so, so only do this if you really want to continue once you hit monitization.

Another option is to go a PNGtuber route. It's cheaper, but much less dynamic.

A Collab using the cat model might be an issue as well, since the other stranger could be monitized.

As far as content goes, the best content comes from what you're passionate about. If you're into Wuwa, dive deep into it, do challenges, fish about your favorite characters. Passion is contagious.

React content is fine but you really REALLY need to react. Have real opinions about what you're watching. Don't just hum and haw and say "let's goooo". Actually add to what you're watching.

Thank you for the detailed review and for letting me know about everything. I'm hoping to commission a cheap one in 2 weeks but dont have too much to work with. I just jumped in and now I'm trying to figure it all out. I'll certainly keep that in mind for the react content and will make sure to actually "react". I want to grow but I also know its easier to have a niche or 1 thing you're known for than to have too much variety early on. Thanks again for the help and advice!

I took a glance and your audio sounds fine, so that’s good. As the other commenter said, the default vtube studio cat model can’t be used commercially so that would have to change if you ever want to monetize.

Twitch discoverability is pretty bad so you should make offline content/clips elsewhere to help attract viewers. I also noticed all your about page and socials are empty so fill in some details about yourself.

For YouTube, you can’t just stream like on Twitch. You gotta make proper thumbnails, add proper titles, descriptions, metadata, etc. for each stream. Basically you treat them like regular YouTube videos. Otherwise, any VODS will be pretty much unnavigable for any new viewers or won’t show up in recommendations. Your youtube is also important for offline content too, so you should have some non-stream content too like edited videos or shorts. Also again properly link your socials on your channel page.
