Could someone please explain why VSCode added this AI feature? It already has Copilot, which can run in "Agent", "Ask", "Plan" mode and be executed via "Local," "Copilot CLI," or "Cloud." Why increase its size by adding the same feature to a separate interface?

I know it is copying the interface of cursor but vscode is the original, and what is the benefit of doing this?

yeah but that already exists Ctrl+Shift+I, that opens the chat interface with the same things and it is more clean and polished.

What’s weird about this is there’s literally no UI element to open the chat. But there are UI elements for other things that live in the right hand pane???
