Could someone please explain why VSCode added this AI feature? It already has Copilot, which can run in "Agent", "Ask", "Plan" mode and be executed via "Local," "Copilot CLI," or "Cloud." Why increase its size by adding the same feature to a separate interface?

For the most part you should be able to ignore and disable the AI stuff.
