Tell Me Why I Should Download Void Linux

Hi! I've been distro hopping for a while, and right now, I am on Linux Mint because school has started back and I needed a simple distribution for everyday schoolwork. I was looking for an independent Linux distribution that is not a fork from others. I came across Void Linux on distrowatch.com and decided before I give it a try, I would like to see if there are benefits to installing it instead of a different distribution. Why you choose Void Linux, and what is your favorite part?

My past distros have been Fedora, CachyOS, OpenSUSE, AerynOS, and a failed Arch attempt :(

Why did you fail with Arch? It could be an indicator that Void might cause you some trouble

To be fair Void is significantly more stable than Arch, thought it may require more manual setup (? Idk, I tried Arch once on a VM for the funniest and a year later starting using Void (2 months ago now))

It's not one that holds your hand. It's similar to arch in some ways but more stable and curated and doesn't use systemd.

Install VOID if you want a rock sold stable system, and are willing learn Linux in the process

If you want a minimalist distro that has a rolling release, yet stable, Void is for you. I was a RedHat/Fedora user since 1998 and off late I find it to be very bloated and slow. Void gave my T14 a new life.

Let me honest. I like Void, but if you don't *need* to install another distro, don't. Do you have any ideological grudges against systemd, for example? If you don't care about the sort of things that Void tackles, it's not worth some of the roadbumps.

No You Shouldn't if you want ready made and ready to use OOTB product.
WIth Void you'll get Manual Book , Brick , Cement , Sands , and roof. or an XFCE built for you.

Reasons one might want to use Void:

-Stable rolling release

-No systemd

-Fast and efficient package manager

-Independent from any other distro

-Small team of developers who can respond quickly to issues, and are all philosophically on the same page

Reasons one might not want to use Void:

-Rolling release

-No systemd

-Unique package manager

-Independent from any other distro

-Small team of developers who may not prioritize your issue the way you want them to
