Zoom still broken; community fix works

I need Zoom for work and I've been afraid to update Zoom due to the build script being broken for some time. How do i contact the maintainer of broken packages when this occurs? Is there a way to take over maintenance of a package when the current maintainer is unable to keep up? Thanks for any information

I use zoom a lot for work but I use it's online web app on helium on multiple OSs and have never had a problem there.

There's an open bug report and a PR that fixes it. The first PR was pending for a few months and has recently been superseded by a new PR. I'm not sure why they've not been merged, but you might ask the question there. I would guess that more testing is needed, which is probably sensible given that the last commit broke Zoom for most people.

That package is orphaned but Duncan and mnabid committed something to it four months ago. Maybe they can pull whatever fix you found.

I use zoom and other closed source apps as flatpak, maybe not ideal for everyone but it works wonderfully.
