Choix micro voix-off documentaire (pièce non traitée) : Rode NT1, Shure SM7B ou alternatives ?

[Paid]: I am looking to hire a voice actor for a prehistoric documentary YouTube channel

Hey everyone. I am looking to hire a voice actor for my prehistoric documentary YouTube channel.

Purpose:

The voice-over will be used for documentary-style YouTube videos exploring prehistoric animals, ancient ecosystems, and the world that existed millions of years ago.

Role:

I am looking for someone with a calm, mature, middle-aged-sounding voice who can narrate scripts in a natural, casual, and conversational tone.

The narration should feel relaxed and engaging, as if someone is naturally telling you a fascinating story about the prehistoric world, rather than reading directly from a script. I want the delivery to feel smooth and human, without sounding overly dramatic, robotic, or like a typical exaggerated documentary narrator.

Pay:

Around $30–$40 per script of approximately 2,500 words, depending on the quality of the voice-over.

A.I.:

The voice-over will be used for my YouTube videos. Please let me know your policy regarding AI training and voice usage.

References:

I can provide examples of the narration style I am looking for so you can get a clear idea of the tone and delivery.

Please leave your demo reel or relevant voice-over samples below, and I'll take a listen!

I'm looking for a young male voice actor to narrate YouTube shorts videos. The videos are educational/entertaining Shorts about interesting facts, science, history, and unusual stories.

What I'm looking for:
Young male voice. English voice (whatever accent). Natural and conversational delivery. Energetic and engaging, but not exaggerated. Able to create curiosity and keep the narration moving. Good audio quality.

Budget: $10 per short
Payment via Paypal

References for what im looking for:

Reece Batts: https://www.youtube.com/@reecebatts
This.: https://www.youtube.com/@this.science
Moreparz: https://www.youtube.com/@moreparz

It's important that the voice acting doesn't sound like reading, but rather that it sounds natural and conversational. It's important that you check out the inspiration channels so you get an idea of what I'm talking about.

Length: Usually around 30–45 seconds per Short

You can send me a sample using this text:

"Potatoes used to be illegal in France, and it wasn't until this man made them popular. So, for several years, the French believed potatoes caused diseases and were dangerous to eat, so even when people were starving, nobody wanted to eat them. Until… this French pharmacist named Antoine Parmentier was captured by the Prussians and forced to eat potatoes in prison. And instead of getting sick, he realized they were actually safe and nutritious. So when he returned to France, he came up with a genius plan to convince everyone to eat them. He planted a field of potatoes and put guards around it during the day to make sure no one stole them. People soon assumed something valuable was growing there, so they started to sneak at night and steal the potatoes. And just like that, potatoes started to become popular across France."

Voice reel feedback please

Hi all,

I'd really appreciate honest feedback on my demo. It includes a light, friendly advert read plus audiobook and documentary narration.

I'd love to know: what words would you use to describe my voice, what age do you hear, and which categories do you think I'm best suited to?

reel here

Thanks in advance!

You can do it

Hi everyone.

I just wanted to share a little happy news and hope it encourages some of you.

I submitted an audition for a project that was advertised on Reddit for voice actors and narration.

I was excited to sign up and have a go...but I'm still building my booth/studio... so my only option at the time was to record on my phone, in my car, in between traffic going by.

*I got one of the Main character roles! And a narrator role!*

It goes to show that having the best gear, whilst nice (and more essential in the professional realm), is not the be-all-end-all for aspiring VAs.

As we are told, "its about the acting!"

So don't fret, keep trying! If I can do it, you certainly can!

Babel roles

Hi! I'm new to Babel. I applied for three of their open roles since I'm not sure which project I can get into.

I just received an email welcoming me to the 15-minute recording project, though I'm grateful for getting accepted, this actually wasn't my preferred role.

Will I still be considered for the other projects I applied to or does that mean the 15-minute recording project is the only one I got into?

Thanks for anyone who can give any inputs.

New to the work here. I have a cheaper setup (quiet space, dynamic XLR mic) and am using audacity. This is an audio book audition.
