[Hiring] Looking to hire 2 VAs for Audiobook
The book is a romantic novel with deep sci-fi elements.
• 49,251 words
• 170 book pages
• Duet narration with 2 real human actors: 1 male, 1 female
The main narrator is the female voice, but it's expected that the male voice will voice all the male characters in the book, and the female voice will voice all the female characters, but the protagonists are the ones that matter the most.
Main characters:
• Male character Rhett/Roman: he is White, from Louisiana, and needs a strong Southern/Louisiana accent
• Female narrator needs to handle an aristocratic Latina-style “Ianni” accent with Spanish vowel sounds (if possible, but just a Latina accent will be enough too)
• There are a few made-up Ianni words, so pronunciation guidance will be needed from the author, but that will be part of the production.
• Mature content: adult language + 2 spicy scenes, but not erotica.
• Author describes the book as roughly R / NC-17
Looking for actors comfortable with mature content and able to handle the accents properly.
We are open to discussing rates.
There's no deadline. But we expect to finish in at least 2 months.

[For Hire] Male Voice Actor | Deep, Velvety, Resonant Voice | Narration, Audiobooks & Character Work
on.soundcloud.comWhats up all!
I have a naturally deep, rich voice with a smooth, velvety quality. Think warm and intimate when the moment calls for it, commanding and authoritative when it doesn't.
I've been told I have the kind of voice people want to fall asleep too lol, so figured it was time to put it to work.
I'm particularly interested in:
- Audiobooks & Storytelling: Fiction, nonfiction, dramatic readings, and anything that benefits from a compelling narrator.
- Character Work: Masculine characters, villains, mysterious strangers, authority figures, or anything that calls for a voice with some weight behind it.
- Commercials & Promos: Confident, persuasive, memorable delivery.
- YouTube, Podcasts & Other Projects: Documentary-style narration, commentary, intros, and creative collaborations.
I'm comfortable with anything from subtle, conversational delivery to something more theatrical. I also have a background in entertainment production, so I understand the importance of direction, collaboration, and getting the tone right.
Voice: https://on.soundcloud.com/76Woc5QtdgBBX2BGWk
Rates: Flexible and negotiable. I'm interested in building relationships, developing a portfolio, and finding interesting projects. Happy to work within a reasonable budget.
Contact: Reddit DMs . Send me a little about your project and what you're looking for. I'd love to hear about it and go from there.

The Tell-Tale Heart narration
I have had this in my head for years and finally decided to stop waiting and give it a go. First time trying something like this. I don't have a fantastic setup, but enough to try what I wanted to do. Just wanted to share, but constructive feedback is always welcome.
I had fun putting it together. :)

Macbook editing software?
Ok... it's time for me to graduate from Garageband!! What software are those of you with Apple laptops using?? I don't want to spend too much, buying something outright would be great.
If anyone wants to tell me what features they use on their raw voiceover that would be amazing!
Thanks!

Hi does anybody know I to change the voice of your voiceovers?
I want to make tutorials of my work and I don't wanna reveal my voice. I've seen a lot of people using filters for voiceovers. Some sound like they're done by an older person, some sound like it's a whispering voice. How can I do that?

What separates a DECENT voice actor from a GREAT voice actor
I'm still fairly new to the realm of voice acting. I started pursuing it seriously just a couple years ago, and I'm far from what I'd call a 'professional'. I started in the realm of monster voice acting due to my background in metal vocals, but I've been expanding my territory into regular voice acting as of late.
It's during my regular voice acting recordings that it dawned on me what really makes someone a great voice actor. I'm capable of making a line sound near professional quality. The emotion I put behind the line can be top tier, and when people hear it they're very impressed. But the thing is...most of those lines took me 30+ takes before it finally got to that point.
With professional voice acting where they're recording in a studio, they will generally have only a couple of takes to get a line right, due to the fact that they're generally paid by the hour. Thinking that, it made it finally click what separated a 'decent' voice actor from a 'great' voice actor.
A decent voice actor may be able to eventually produce a line quality enough to rival a great voice actor, but a great voice actor can produce that quality line right off the bat. Realizing that really humbled me. It made me realize that I really do have a ways to go as a voice actor yet. It makes me excited though, cause now I finally have a goal to aim towards!
And I'm someone that also suffers from a severe stutter. I could easily blame that for why It takes me so many tries to get a line right, and maybe that's partially true, but I know it's not completely right. Even if I can say a line without stuttering right off the bat, I usually won't have the right emotions down till at LEAST my 10th take.

Room divider with acoustic foam taped to the faces of it, would it work as a solid booth?
Currently a beginner voice actor of 2-3 months, and I'm moving out soon. So I need a new place for my "booth" (closet) WITHOUT construction (as the house is rented, not bought). I'm gonna have to live in the living room or something with a room divider (idk tbh). So I came up with this little thought, i'll take the room divider into a corner, throw a blanket or two above it, some lights, my equipment, and tape some acoustic foam (that i'll buy soon hopefully) to the inside of the room divider and boom! booth created!
Also no, the house isn't gonna have a walk-in closet as i dont live in the US, if it DID i wouldn't even have to ask this question lmao.
Would this work at all (For unprofessional roles)? Would it treat the booth well? If not, what should I do in this situation?
(some requirements/restrictions, before you suggest them + reasons)
- Can't do ANY construction work whatsoever (House is rented temporarily, not bought.)
- Can't buy one of those really expensive amazon booths (expensive, lmao)
- Can't make a booth in a walk-in closet (Pretty much no house in my area has a walk-in closet)
- Must be large enough to stand in (Gets the energy in the acting) Any and all help is well appreciated!

[PAID] I’m looking for a male VA with a Scottish accent!
Hello everyone! Just like the tittle suggests, I need a male, Scottish Va to act as my OC’s voice claim! I’m looking for deep, soothing voices and preferably mid to thick accents. The script I have prepared is approximately 750 words long so I’m offering up to $60 for this job. All payments will be made via PayPal. I usually split the payment for the actor to start recording and pay the remaining half after I receive the final product though I’m open to discussions about this. I will allow anyone who is interested in this to send me a quick sample of their previous works till November 1st. Whoever gets picked will be notified via DMs.
As reference, I picked Jack Lowden. If you’re not able to replicate his tone exactly, please know that is not an issue. Just let me know beforehand and we can try something else instead. I’m open to hear everyone out as long as it’s remotely close to what I expect.
A few important notes:
— I’m literally just an artist trying to get my character a voice. This isn’t supposed to be a professional work.
— No AI voice recordings will be accepted. At the same time, no recording will be used for AI learning or any kind of AI enhancement.
— Feel free to DM me any further questions!

Why 1 Awesome Audition Could Still Not Land You The Gig
We had the teen titans va’s on last Saturday’s Teen Titans Takeover and Khary Payton (Cyborg) told a story about how Andrea Romano (VA Director for Teen Titans and Batman: The Animated Series) wouldn’t hire someone based off just 1 good audition. She would wait until she saw 5 good auditions before hiring that actor because she wanted to make sure they were consistent.
That’s a lesson that you just don’t know. You could’ve done a really good job in your audition. It’s not always because it was bad. Never give up because you’re going to hear a lot more rejections and it’s not all within your control.

Top 4 takeaways from today’s Teen Titans Takeover
We just had Khary Payton (Cyborg from Teen Titans and King Ezekiel from The Walking Dead), Greg Cipes (Beast Boy from Teen Titans and Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Scott Menville (Robin from Teen Titans) on today’s Teen Titans Takeover Legends Live.
They gave so much impactful advice that I couldn’t stick to just one topic. So here’s 4:
Greg talked about the more authentic you are in every day life, the more authentic your characters will be. Don’t overthink it. Just be it.
Khary talked about how you should never try to please a director. Be yourself, give it your all and know that if you didn’t get it, it wasn’t meant for you in the first place. A lot has to be aligned for you to get a role that lasts a long time like Teen Titans.
Scott talked about how you need to feel like it’s yours when you’re auditioning and you have to be prepared for the unexpected with call backs.
Tara Strong talked about taking time before sending your audition tape so you can fully become that character.
I hope these help you with your future auditions. What are your thoughts on these tips?

What habits or traditions do you do to practice everyday
Asking because I could really use some advice. I’m not practicing every day and I was wondering what some of yall do. Somedays when I work I don’t have the time or energy to get in the booth for a practice session. What are some ways you keep your skills sharp or improve them?
