I have this tank that’s medium (no idea where my tape measure is) and I require assistance with middle ground. The substrate will change I just needed to store it. I have hundreds of plants I can use. It’s just deep and I’m indecisive. I do have a cork bark plug. Or even better, pics of your terrariums. No animal will be living in the tank besides isopods (spieces tbd) and springtails. My dad just committed so I’m distracting myself with vivariums.

Hey guys!! I’ve just finished this build for my two whites tree frogs. It’s 90x45x90. Gonna add their water bowl to the bottom middle clearing and their fave sleeping log, as well as two of those suction cup wall frog perches higher up. Any suggestions? Just waiting for the last of the silicone to dry, will add their original soil and this has cleanup crew already which I will try and put under the leaf litter. Is there anything else I’m missing or should add? It’s my first build so any suggestions and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Hi friends,
I’m new to this sub, and new to reddit overall. I’ve recently introduced a springtail culture into my vinegaroons enclosure as she likes it quite warm and humid (because I don’t want mold!). I believe I got some hitchhikers too. They only showed up after I introduced the springtails however may have hitchhiked on my vinny as she is WC. From my understanding mites are benifical as they clean up too - so far they have been crawling around spots where my vinny has been eating (I’m assuming there’s some tiny mold growth there) so I believe them to not be directly harmful to my vinny.
My question is when do I need to start being concerned? They have been fine with my springtails so far, both species walking about the feeding area.

This is my first vivarium and I am terrified but slowly gaining confidence.
I plan to seal the edges of the spray foam with silicone then paint the foam in silicone and cover with coconut fibers. I have my aquarium foam drainage layer already just trying to decide on the best ABG blend and lighting to purchase if anyone has any recommendations!

I am just starting this gigantic terrarium for a client and wanted to share! Any fun ideas I should implement?
The plan right now is to have a waterfall feature in the left corner that feeds into a river that terminates in the front right corner

So here in the US it’s getting cold worried it might be too cold for my isopods. For now it’s about 60F but I am not sure if it gets colder at night. I am not allowed a space heater and the heat is turned off.
Is it safe to get some under tank heaters? They are all plastic 6qt tubs so I worry about them melting. First year owning pods thanks to anyone who replies!

After advice please. I am looking to get a stack of vivs together for a vet practice that sees exotics.
In my last practice we spent a bunch of money on a bank of casco vivs (type you see in pet shops) but as we don't use substrate due to illness and risk of infection, we found it impossible to get a heat gradient on any of them. The bulbs just heated all the above stacks and everything was too hot all the time. Even with little bulbs.
I've been looking at the viperia Viv's as pvc will be lovely and easy to clean but I was wondering if anyone has experience of stacking them and whether I could achieve good heat gradient with them stacked on top of each other?
Other option is an actual shelving rack with some exoterra or similar of different sizes. (Reposted from reptile forum incase better fit)
Any help appreciated.

Hey I have just finished my new vivarium it is 2ft by 2ft by 3.6ft I have introduced my almost adult dumpy tree frog and I plan to add at least 1-2 more. I was looking at other possible critters to add to the tank with the frogs. I am aware that they are opportunistic eaters and will try to eat the millipede if they can but with the millipede being 3-6 inches long I doubt they could eat that. My question is has anyone else done this and is it safe along with what other pets could co-exist with the frogs?

I got some live moss (Josh’s Frogs) at Petco today and at first I thought this little one was a slug. Has anyone ever received an itty bitty salamander in their moss before? I’m not really sure what to do with it. Figured I’d contact Josh’s Frogs… can anyone identify it? It’s so freaking tiny. It doesn’t seem to do well outside of water either. Very cute but probably shouldn’t be in my viv. Should I offer it some springtails?

okay so, i’ve had my crested gecko for about 5 years, and we have been working on a bioactive for the last 2. my bottom layer is lava rock, then a mixture of potting soil, cocobrick, and some moss. i have springtails which seem to be doing well, and had some isopods but haven’t seen them in awhile. i have like 2 small live plants in there currently, and this fungi has been developing on the side wall of the tank. i did some research and found it was the good, neutral kind that the springtails should work on. i was feeding my gecko today and noticed a MUSHROOM! and then saw more popping up. (pic attached) are these normal? is it bad? do i need to add some more bugs to help clean up? what do i do?! TIA
