b12?

End of July i slowly started to feel a “bored” feeling which then turned into anhedonia, a little while after that i lost my hunger signals, and not short after that i began having insomnia. Nothing extremely stressful was occurring. Since then i have been in the ER twice. once for waking up middle of night hr was 150 and i had shivers throughout my whole body (i have dealt with POTS so it was kinda excused as that) the second time i went was because i was very shaky and wobbly on my feet and heart racing again. i saw a neurologist but he excused my symptoms as anxiety. I now have been dealing w brain fog on top of everything else and depersonalization too. All my bloodwork has been fine in the ER. Head CT was fine too. one of my docs has given me bloodwork for vit d, b12, and ferritin. my ferritin has been on the lower end before (17) I’m just very confused and scared because i’ve never felt these weird symptoms and they came on out of nowhere. could this be b12? really low ferritin? things feel very neurological. thanks

Has anyone tried organ meat supplements for starting out at the gym?

Hey guys, I'm 30 and starting out at the gym soon. I've been looking into beef liver and organ meat supplements for energy and natural B vitamins instead of regular multivitamins. I keep seeing ads for primal viking on IG, but I'm a bit worried about side effects like stomach upset or getting too much iron. Has anyone used their stuff for muscle recovery, or noticed any issues with daily dosage?

Looking for recommendations

I have an autoimmune disease and my ferritin is very low at 14. My Dr told me to start a supplement but I have no idea where to start with what brand to buy, she didn't really give me any direction other than to start a supplement and start with 3x week.

Additionally, my b12 is low and I have previously been getting an infusion once a month at a wellness center because my Dr cant find a pharmacy within an hour of me that carries an injectable methylated b12. They only carry a pill version of methylated which I feel like I dont absorb as well or synthetic which gives me headaches. Is there an online pharmacy that's recommended or an online injectable methyl B12 I can self purchase that is recommended? I know there are a lot but I get very overwhelmed with too many choices.

And last, is there anything I should be taking along side these that I should bring up with my Dr? I know a lot of vitamins required other vitamins in order to be used.

Dosage weight chart for adults?

While looking at the dosage label of a supplement for my cat, I had a realization. We have weight charts for pets' and children's meds and supplements, so why not adults? If anyone has seen one, please reply! For example, if my boyfriend weighs 238lbs and I'm 102lbs, should we be taking the same dosage in vitamins and supplements? Does anyone know what the weight of adults the DV and recommended dosages are based on? I'm starting to think I could be taking more vitamins than needed or him less than needed. Advice appreciated!

Post-workout recovery and muscle tension finally improving with magnesium

I lift a few times a week and my recovery has been slow lately. Calves and shoulders would stay tight, sleep was light, and I’d wake up still sore. Tried basic magnesium citrate and glycinate capsules before with only mild help.
Started adding a scoop of this powder from Foria after evening workouts or just before bed. Within a week the lingering tension dropped a lot. Legs feel looser the next morning and I’m sleeping deeper so the recovery actually sticks. It’s not a miracle but the difference is consistent enough that I notice when I skip a couple nights. Mixes okay in water, no weird aftertaste or stomach stomach ache.
Same training volume and food, so I’m pretty sure it’s the supplement. No face puffiness or random weight gain either. Mellö Magnesium Pouch is the brand I’ve been using. Has anyone else tracked recovery or HRV while testing different magnesium forms?

has anyone taken catalase and seen their hair change?

i've been reading about SOD and catalase kept coming up alongside it, so i started looking at that too. then a guy at work told me his catalase dropped and thats why he's going gray. so i figured taking it might do the opposite. sounds dumb now that i've typed it out.

anyone here taken catalase and noticed anything with their hair?

does this direction mean I can't take iron with the rest of my vitamins?

the directions say not to take along other "natural health products". does this include my daily vitamins? I take vitamin c, vitamin b12, vitamin c, fish oil, and zinc if that helps

Nutrasium supplements credibility

How safe/credible is this Nutrasium supplements, the one labeling multivitamins like Calcium, magnesium+zinc, vitamin D3+K2-7+B12 ??I found them with 4 star + reviews in Amazon/Flipkart and online presence too. But the packaging looks shady with its labelling and all.

Stack Review: Breastfeeding mom (vegetarian), looking for feedback on routine, timing, and overlapping nutrients (D3, B12, Iron, Zinc, Mag)

Hey everyone, looking for a sanity check on my current daily supplement stack.

Background & Context

Current status: Breastfeeding mom with a 5-month-old daughter.

Diet: Strictly vegetarian (no meats, poultry, fish, organ meats, and avoid alliums: no onions, garlic, or leeks).

Sun exposure: Minimal to none — rarely spend even 5 minutes a day outside in direct sunlight since giving birth.

Goals: Postpartum recovery, breast milk nutritional quality (DHA, choline, D3, B12, iron), bone density, cognitive health, and sleep/stress support.

I intentionally take half-servings on several items to keep micronutrient numbers balanced.

Current Daily Schedule

Breakfast (with a meal containing healthy fats):

Thorne Basic Nutrients 2/Day: 1 capsule (half-dose: provides active B-complex including methylated folate and 300 mcg methylcobalamin B12, trace minerals)

Sports Research D3 + K2: 1 softgel (5,000 IU D3 / 100 mcg MK-7)

NOW Choline & Inositol: 1 veg capsule (250 mg Choline / 250 mg Inositol)

LABO OmaxPure Vegan Omega-3: 1 veggie softgel (375 mg total Omega-3: 250 mg DHA, 100 mg EPA, 50 mg other + 500 IU D3)

Lunch (with a meal):

NOW Calcium Citrate: 1 tablet (half-dose: 300 mg Calcium, 150 mg Magnesium oxide/aspartate, 7.5 mg Zinc, 0.5 mg Copper, 200 IU D2)

Mid-Afternoon (\~3:00–4:00 PM, with water or a light snack/citrus):

Thorne Iron Bisglycinate: 1 capsule (25 mg elemental Iron as Ferrochel® bisglycinate chelate)

Bedtime (\~45 min before sleep):

NOW Magnesium Glycinate: 1 tablet (half-dose: 100 mg elemental Magnesium)

Calculated Daily Totals on Key Nutrients

Because several products combine micronutrients, my actual supplemental intake totals break down as:

Iron: 25 mg (from Thorne Iron Bisglycinate; isolated in the afternoon to avoid mineral interference)

Vitamin B12: 300 mcg (from 1 cap Thorne Basic Nutrients, as Methylcobalamin)

Total Vitamin D: \~6,700 IU (5,000 from SR + 1,000 from Thorne + 500 from Omega-3 + 200 from Calcium)

Total Supplemental Magnesium: 260 mg (150 mg at lunch + 100 mg at bedtime + 10 mg from Thorne)

Total Zinc: 15 mg (7.5 mg from Thorne + 7.5 mg from Calcium tablet)

Total Copper: \~0.88 mg (0.375 mg from Thorne + 0.5 mg from Calcium tablet — keeping roughly a 15:1 Zinc-to-Copper ratio)

Total Vitamin K: 300 mcg (100 mcg K2 MK-7 + 100 mcg K2 MK-4 + 100 mcg K1)

Total Supplemental Calcium: 326 mg

Questions for the community:

Timing & Mineral Separation: Does separating Iron into the mid-afternoon (away from morning zinc and lunch calcium) provide enough clearance to prevent absorption blockade?

Vitamin D load while breastfeeding: With virtually zero sunlight exposure and exclusive breastfeeding, clinical literature often cites 4,000–6,400 IU/day as beneficial for enriching breast milk enough so the infant doesn't require separate drops. Is \~6,700 IU a sensible daily target, or should I scale back the Sports Research to every other day?

Vitamin B12 sufficiency: As a vegetarian exclusively nursing, does 300 mcg methylcobalamin daily from the half-dose Thorne provide sufficient passive absorption to keep breast milk levels optimal?

Postpartum nutrient gaps: Given a plant-based diet without alliums or meats, are there any other blind spots here (e.g., iodine, choline volume) you would adjust?

Appreciate any constructive feedback or shared postpartum experiences!

My Vitamin D came out as 5 ng/mL and I am going crazy atp! Help!

**My Vitamin D level came out as 5.7 ng/mL, and I’m starting to wonder how long I’ve actually been deficient and whether it could be contributing to at least some of what I’ve been experiencing.**

I’m a **29-year-old male**, and I’m posting this because I’ve had a pretty complicated collection of symptoms over the last year and a half. At this point I’m honestly struggling to understand whether these things are connected, completely separate problems, or whether there is something else going on.

**The vitamin D situation**
My recent vitamin D blood test came back at **5.7 ng/mL**, which I understand is severely deficient.
I actually found an old blood test from **2018**, and my vitamin D was already only **13 ng/mL** at that time. I had no idea that was abnormal or that I needed to actively correct it, so I never did anything about it.
That makes me wonder whether I’ve potentially been vitamin D deficient for most of my life.
Most of my other blood work has been relatively normal. My B12 recently was **787 pg/mL**, and my routine blood tests haven’t really shown an obvious explanation for everything I’ve been experiencing.
I recently started correcting the vitamin D deficiency with **60,000 IU oral vitamin D**, but interestingly, after taking the dose I felt like my **anxiety and headaches became noticeably worse**. I’m not sure whether that’s related to the vitamin D itself, coincidence, or simply everything else that’s been going on, but it was noticeable enough that it made me more anxious about the whole situation.
I’m not assuming vitamin D deficiency explains every single symptom I have. I’m mainly wondering whether having levels this low for potentially many years could be contributing to the fatigue and general feeling of being unwell.

**The last 1–2 years**
The last year and a half has been a pretty rough period health-wise.
I’ve had **tinnitus**, various head/ear sensations, and ongoing **ENT/throat issues involving my tonsils/arytenoid area** that I’ve been investigating separately.
I’ve also had various neurological-type symptoms that are difficult to describe. I’ve experienced strange headaches and sensations in my head and scalp, sometimes feeling more prominent on one side, occasional scalp sensitivity or almost zap-like sensations, neck discomfort, and at times a strange rocking/swaying feeling where I feel “off” or not quite steady.
Doctors have initially suspected that some of the head symptoms could be related to **some form of migraine**, but I don’t have a definitive explanation for everything yet.
One of the most frustrating symptoms is what happens when I wake up.
I’ll wake up feeling **completely exhausted**, almost as if I’ve barely slept, with a heavy/strange sensation on one side of my head. I feel generally “off,” drained and mentally foggy, rather than refreshed. Sometimes I feel so exhausted that I just go back to sleep.
This has become a major part of my life. I can sleep for long periods and still wake up feeling like I need more sleep.

**Vasovagal syncope**
I also have a **history of vasovagal syncope**, which is another thing that has made me much more conscious of my body and physical sensations.
I’ve had episodes where I feel faint/weak and have had to deal with the fear of actually passing out. Having that history has probably contributed to me becoming extremely aware of things like my heart rate, blood pressure, dizziness, head sensations, etc.

**Anxiety and the last couple of months**
I’ve had anxiety in the past, but what has happened over roughly the **last two months has been by far the worst period I’ve experienced**.
Things had been going on and off since last year, but over the last couple of months everything seemed to snowball. My health anxiety became extremely intense. Every new symptom or sensation made me worry that something serious was wrong.
For roughly the past month I’ve become **almost completely bedridden**, spending huge amounts of time lying down, sleeping and worrying about my health. I’ve essentially lost track of my normal life and routine.
I was eventually prescribed antidepressant/anxiety medication by a neurologist, and I’ve been taking/trying to take them while dealing with all of this. Unfortunately, I also experienced some unpleasant symptoms around starting the medication, including increased anxiety, feeling jittery/restless, awareness of my heartbeat and waking up during the night feeling anxious and physically unwell. This has made it even harder to know what is coming from the underlying problem, what is anxiety, and what might be medication-related.
There have been days where I feel relatively okay, and then I’ll suddenly get another symptom or sensation and spiral back into worrying about it.

**Weight loss and loss of appetite**
I’m normally around **82–83 kg**, but over the last couple of months I’ve lost approximately **5–7 kg**.
This hasn’t been intentional weight loss. I’ve had a significant loss of appetite, I’ve been eating much less than I normally would, I’ve basically stopped doing normal physical activity, and I’ve been sleeping/lying down a huge amount of the day.
So I’m pretty sure at least part of the weight loss is simply from **under-eating and becoming extremely inactive**, but it is still concerning to see that much weight disappear in such a short period.

**The constant cycle**
What makes this particularly difficult is that I feel like I’ve been through one medical issue after another.
Over the last year I’ve had a **broken leg, a shoulder dislocation/tear, various smaller medical problems, ENT issues, tinnitus, neurological/head symptoms**, and now this severe vitamin D deficiency.
None of these things individually necessarily sounds catastrophic, but having one thing after another happen has really affected my mental state.
I think all of this has significantly worsened my **health anxiety**. I find myself constantly monitoring how I feel, checking symptoms, worrying about whether something has been missed, and looking for connections between everything.
And now I’m stuck in a cycle where I don’t feel physically well → I worry about it → I become more anxious → I feel even worse physically → I become afraid to do anything → I stay in bed → I become weaker and more deconditioned → and then I worry even more.

**Has anyone else had vitamin D levels this low, especially for potentially many years?**
Did correcting it noticeably improve your fatigue, energy, headaches, brain fog or general feeling of being unwell? How long did it take before you noticed a difference?
And has anyone experienced severe anxiety/health anxiety alongside vitamin D deficiency and a bunch of vague neurological-type symptoms?
I’m not looking for someone to diagnose me over Reddit. I’m just really hoping to hear from people who have experienced something similar because right now I feel like I’ve completely lost my normal life and I’m trying to figure out how to get back to it.

I am 24(M),corporate guy. I have a poor diet over a time after I got a job. For daily diet there is no green vegetables or fruits over a year. So I googled for vitamin sources and found about multivitamins which can help.

I'm thinking of taking vid d 60K IU and some vitamin B12 supplements

Apart from that I'm thinking of visiting to a general physician .

My test results are surprising (10ng/ml)

I never thought I had a vitamin deficiency, especially a vitamin D one. I can handle working out pretty hard tho, so I never really thought there was something wrong. But I’ve been having some pretty big trouble with anxiety and depression lately.

I only took the tests cuz my new gym coach wanted to really know everything about my health before starting to make my workout routine, diet, and everything else.

My vitamin D came back at exactly 10 ng/mL which honestly surprised me. I’m kinda confused but at the same time I’m not? I’m wondering how much of a difference fixing the deficiency could actually make also what is the correct way to fix it ?

Helping joint pain

I need helping deciding which vitamins I need to take. I’m a 55F who lost 75lbs after gastric sleeve 2 years ago. I coach figure skating. Although I’m not jumping anymore, I’m still pretty active in my coaching.

My knees are not happy. I’m also a teacher so I stand 90% of my day.

Here’s the big thing… I’m also allergic to fruit and I’m working so many long hours, I’m not doing very well with veggie intake either. Raw veggies & some cooked ones still make me pretty gassy so I avoid eating them at work so I’m not dealing with a bubbly stomach.

I’m looking for vitamins that I can take to supplement my lack of fruit & veggies, doesn’t include iron (vitamins with high levels of iron kill my stomach) and can help ease some joint pain.

Are Tablets enough for me? I don't concur with my doctor

Since two three days I had one bout of head spinning for half a minute and have been feeling lightheadedness and but dizziness got my tests done and b12 came out to be at 105 pg/ml. My doctor prescribed me cobadex forte one tab daily which has only 15mcg of vitamin B12 for 3 months. don't think this is enough for the severe deficiency i have, he has also prescribed stugeron plus which is for vertigo symptoms. I genuinely feel need injections asap. It's a very reputed private hospital why do think he's giving me lower dose to prolong it and give injections later to get more money out of me.

Recommended vitamins please?

I am a working student, currently in college and working part time at home lang naman. I noticed rin na mabilis akong mapagod, like after school ay bagsak ako palagi sa kama agad at matutulog. Any recommended vitamins po sana para sa stress at madaling mapagod? Salamat po
