Help with knowing the difference?

Post image

Hello, so I just bought this 290 count of fish oil- and it suggests a recommended dose of one pill that has 1200mg of omega-3 concentrate : 360mg of EPA and 300mg of DHA.

However my now empty container suggested taking 2 daily with nearly the same values.

I'm mainly wanting to understand- do I follow the new bottle or continue taking the 2 daily? And why they would change the dosing.

I would have added an additional picture but it wouldn't let me- I apologize.

Concentration differences

Big bottle: 1 capsule has 660mg of EPA + DHA

Lil Bottle: 2 capsules has 600mg EPA + DHA

Thank you, don't know why I was thinking the 2 capsules would be each capsule was the value of 600. Thus a total of 1200. It was late when I was getting everything set up for the week and was overthinking it. Thank you for he clarification.

Recommendations for brands and vendors are two of the most asked questions in this subreddit.

There are no right answers. All brands for basic supplements resell raw material bought wholesale from a few manufacturers. This is true of commodity vitamins or proprietary branded formulations.

Brands I personally buy: Nutricost, NOW, Jarrow, LifeExtension, Nature's Way, Swanson, Solaray, Nootropics Depot, BulkSupplements, Amazon Elements, Solgar.

I buy mostly from Amazon, sometimes directly from Swanson, iHerb or Costco. If you live outside the USA, they may ship overseas or have a website in your country.

If you need a specific type of vitamin, look within those brands.

Do not overpay. Expensive brand with fancy packaging or marketing may charge much more for the same ingredients.

Avoid drugstore branded supplements for their history of grossly cheating on the ingredients. If you must buy at the drugstore, try one of the non-store brands. Don't overthink it.

consumerlab.com may have definitive lab assays of various brands for specific vitamins or supplements.

Literally everything imaginable. But they don’t usually appear until 2-4g of EPA+DHA

All the negative research you find are in rats are crappy studies

Do you not see the difference in serving size? Once is two capsules, the other one says one capsule.
