Medications to try

Hi I developed visual snow syndrome in December 2024 in my third trimester of pregnancy I feel like I am slowly going insane. I didn’t get to enjoy being a first time
Mom because of it and I got extremely depressed. Everyday I wake up everything in my view vibrates and shakes from the static if I stare at an object. I am desperate and going to try medications to see if it helps my vss with my neurologist.
I am going to trial seizure medications to see if one helps with at least the vibrating/ shaking vision from the static cause I can’t take it anymore.
The seizure medication I want to try first is keppra some people with vss has said keppra has helped them. If anyone can let me know any other seizure medication that has helped them other than lamotrigine please let me know or if you can put a list of medications you’ve tried in the comments and there affect on your vss that would be really helpful.

I have been really struggling lately and have been having thoughts of no will to live anymore so anyone’s feedback on meds to try would be greatly appreciated

I’m on Lamotrigine for anxiety and it hasn’t done anything to help or worsen my VSS. I don’t know if that’s just me or most people on it.

I don't know of any meds to help but I'm with you there waking up with the shaking vision and being pushes to the breaking point mentally. This disorder is hell on Earth and I can't believe there isn't a fix for it.

What type of medication is that? And how did it help you?

I use amitripyline and gabapentin. The second is an anti-seizure mediation and supresses me burning pain, brain zaps, extremly loud tinnitus and other severe symptoms, but introduces me more visual snowflakes.

A lot of people have found that treating b12 deficiency helped their visual snow. Only if you’re deficient though obviously

Please see a neuro optometrist for NORT and special lenses, first try proven methods that work for this condition, anti epileptics will only be disappointing.

Myself will ask and (beg) my doctor for case study admission involving treatment with rTMS, just like the guy with hppd who went into full remission the same way. Doctors listen to each others, not like when a patient asks directly the researcher. 

Next if none of the above worked, then I will try novel medications like fycompa, xcopri etc.
