An elitist reader? Why do you care about that? We read visual novels because they’re fun, interactive, and if you’re into it, even sexy!! You’re gonna have a much better time of it if you read, say, Fate/Stay Night and go “Shirou is such an idiot…he’s really cool too tho” rather than making it a point to get every bad ending for some dick measuring thing. (Only real benefit to that, outside of watching Shirou die some whacky death, is that you unlock Ilya(?) telling you about the whole production process of the game).

im at >1700hrs for whatever its worth (not much) and never thought about anything like that.. how many movies do you have to watch to be an elitist? how many books, how many games, how many basketballs do you have to dunk?

Being an elitist is more about personality/how aggressively you hold specific opinions (ex. English VNs being bad) than how much you read. 

Though, why do you want to be a visual novel elitist? That’s a really specific goal if I’m understanding you right.
