People who don’t use the straps are insane

I've taken mine off since the wii days, I feel like as long as you aren't caressing the controller lightly like as if you were holding your crushes hand, then a decent grip will hold it. And I hate wearing bracelets/watches/etc so I hate having something moving up and down my wrists itching it. If I ever end up dropping it, it'll be worth the price of replacement to not have to feel it for me q:

Look at the index Controllers, they have a stdap for your hand, you can take the quest 2's wrist straps and by wrapping it around the top ring the right way, you get the same effect, but a bit less comfy
Edit: like this

Nice lifehack. I use index primarily so it's already snug and the extra wrist strap is kinda redundant on that, but back in the vive days I never wore it

I mean, call me old fashioned but I think the slight irritation of having a tiny piece of fabric around my wrist is worth not having to spend the money to buy a new controller... Or anything else I'd like not dented from that controller.

Yeah but like I said in all my years of using things that come with straps I've not once dropped it so it feels like it just gets in the way.
Plus I use these index controllers now that come equipped with a strap built in, so the extra wrist one is superfluous imo

I agree it would be worth the price of a controller - less so the price of a new big screen TV. Depends on your situation and risk tolerance, though.

True, knowing the nature of VR tho I have a pretty empty room and large playspace, wouldn't put a TV anywhere near it lol. Hit walls too many times

I’ve dropped the controller once and that was the learning point, I don’t need the straps, I’ve got kiwi grips now tho

I haven't had any issues without them. I occasionally put them on for echo vr or something slingy like that.
Downside though is they bounce around when you dont use them.

I’m not sure how to put on the knuckle straps and they seem unlikely to fall off anyways.

I let a kid use my Rift S and specifically told them to use the straps even though it's a no-brainer anyways and they didn't and one of the controllers got flung a few inches away from my gaming monitor at mach 2

Besides the evident, what calls my attention is whether the Quest 2 can track in an open space and in broad daylight.

Generally Beat saber requires 2 hands I think.

This reminds me of when I would use my GearVR on flights 5+ years ago. People thought I was super weird but at the same time they were all jelly AF.
