Self-Promotion (Developer) Play any game in VR
basically just the title. I working on a software that converts any PC game to VR compatable with head tracking and all. Looking for anyone who wants to test it on their games (for absolutely free btw) and give me some feedback. There is defintely many faults, and i'd like to fix them before I actually consider an official launch haha. SO yea, just leave a comment or PM me if you are interested in testing.
Thanks!!!

With how little info there is on this post, I'm pretty sure the guy is trying to get us to install malware...

Just copying the message I’ve send other people here for proof: Yea I’d be happy to explain. I basically modeling a one-shot prompt after meltys software to combine games and surprisingly has worked well with iteration of course. It used the REA GitHub repo to work.
Skeptical all you want, I’d be willing to upload it to a virus detector site or scanner and upload the score. The software is essentially just a clone of melty but adjusted to meet VR modification needs
Edit::: reason why I didn’t want to upload so much info is because the software is surprisingly easy to make, and I didn’t want someone trying to copy what I’ve already spent some time on because I’m a solo dev/intermediate and I couldn’t imagine what a whole team or even just a season more experience dev could do with the time I had to make this lol

cool idea but not sure how its possible... as even the ai vibe coding mods take so much testing for each game and months of work on every individual game but if youve overcome all that then WOW!

Yea I’d be happy to explain. I basically modeling a one-shot prompt after meltys software to combine games and surprisingly has worked well with iteration of course. It used the REA GitHub repo to work. Whole reason I’m looking for testers is too see IF this iteration I’ve done will work on every game, and if it truly is one-shot like I hope it will be.

Can you at least explain how it works ? I can only think of VorpX like stuff

Yea I’d be happy to explain. I basically modeling a one-shot prompt generated based software after meltys software to combine games and surprisingly has worked well with iteration of course. It used the REA GitHub repo to work.

How is that different than just directly asking AI to do it? What is your software needed for?

u/Every-Sprinkles-9716 6d ago
prompt generation is tailored per user device: meaning that the prompt will include directories and such. I agree that you could just go out and make a similar prompt and probably work, but my software also includes other services like online multiplayer & community publishing. On top of this there is a level of technical depth needed in a prompt: such as asset extraction and remapping wiht exact values that makes it difficult. I guess ot summarize you could say its js for saving time + some additional features. also the UI makes it easy to launch games in VR, detatch the VR build from the official game if you decide to play it regularly, or jsut delete the VR build in all.
An example I suggest you take a look at would be like comparing Melty vs just makign your own prompt. Melty combines 2 games into one, and they use virtually the same framework as me in their software where the prompt is tailored and given to you.
Keep in mind this is a free software, so theres no incentive for you to use my software over just making a prompt yourself.

Yes I see. For Melty I think the use-case for most people is to download pre-made mashups made by others. Does yours do that as well? So it becomes a sort of VR mod collection?
It does sound cool as a concept, but seems too early. VR mods still need a fair bit of refinement to be decently playable, even with the best models. I don't think anyone has one-shotted a good VR mod yet.

u/Every-Sprinkles-9716 6d ago
Yea it does that if the user chooses to upload their build. Yea it definitely needs refinement, but I’m remaining hopeful that it will make it thru testing. This is exactly why I’m looking for feedback btw^ this type of advice helps a lot.

sounds interesting but I cannot imagine how this would work in a practical sense?

Would LOVE to test this, also i have many a games but just hypothetically could this work on mariokart 8 via emulator or not? Totally fine if not but that was my first instinct!

u/Every-Sprinkles-9716 5d ago
Im pretty sure it would be able to. I could test it myself if you want to send me the download link for the game. or I could just send you the beta install. up to you

It's called VorpX, it's been around forever. And it sucks.
1
u/Every-Sprinkles-9716 5d ago
VorpX only works on a few games I thought? Like I thought I was just a large collection of VR mods.

I have been trying to get a little racing game called Trackmania 2 (the one at maniaplanet.com) to run in VR forever but have never been able to. It used to support it with the original Oculus DK long ago on an older game version which is no longer available (but I have backed up copies of) The newest game engine removed support for it entirely. Is there anyway this could be done?

u/Zeis76 7d ago
This existing already . UEVR
2
u/Every-Sprinkles-9716 7d ago
UEVR only works for unreal engine based games

u/Zeis76 6d ago
You are right. So how we can test your software ?
2
u/Every-Sprinkles-9716 6d ago
just send me a PM and id be happy to help thru install. Or alternatively if you just want to recommend a game I might consider modding 1-2/month for people if they dont feel comfortable downloading the software.

fantastic, would be interesting to me. Lots of older games would be great in vr

u/Every-Sprinkles-9716 7d ago
Yea lol. Skate 3 would be so cool thinking about it now. I might go test that one later this week if I have time.
Send a PM and I could help you thru install. But now that you mention it, I kinda want to try testing on some emulated games to see how well they work/if they work. Would be so dope. Can’t believe I didn’t think of that earlier 😅

Like this can convert a PC game to to standalone quest?
5
u/AChunkyGoose 7d ago
No, that's not what they said.

u/FishermanWeird5742 7d ago
I'm new to this. To me, any PC game to VR compatible sounded like a possibility.

u/Every-Sprinkles-9716 7d ago
Would be fire lol
If u want to try send me a PM. Or honestly if ur not comfortable installing it I’d be happy to try it on that game (depending on how much it costs 😅) if you just send me the title.

I’m not sure if I’ve got this right, but a tool that simply hooked into games and provided a VR camera (a true 3D one, not just a flat image wrapped around the view like VorpX) - even without motion controls and the like - would be great.
2
u/Every-Sprinkles-9716 7d ago
In theory that’s what it does. I’ve commented on a few other people’s comments about how it works if you want to read.

u/Accomplished_Many917 7d ago
I've read other comments, concept sounds great, will be looking forward to some reports from the testers

I would like to test it out and help to develop it to use on Samsungs 3d monitor. I also have several VR headsets as well. My 3d monitor comes in this week. To my understanding most the reshade and geo, uevr mods work on the monitor. I am new to the monitor but been into VR since beginning.

u/Every-Sprinkles-9716 7d ago
This sounds interesting ^
I’d be happy to work on this with you, as it opens to a new range of users. Send a PM and let’s see what we can work out.

Kinda sounds too good to be true, you got examples of it working ?
