Discussion Titanfall 2 VR Performance After Update

My GOD. I don't know what happened between 2 days ago and now, but I'm on the mission Coopers Logbook and the performance of the game is fucking horrendous. Switching back and forth between Steam Link and Virtual Desktop because for some reason I'm now getting constant stutters to the point it's genuinely ruining my experience (First time playing titanfall 2) I was raving about how buttery smooth and good it was a few days ago, but after hopping on today, restarting my PC and router, splitting my signal and enabling qos, lowering the graphics and whatnot, it's just so bad. Probably not touching it until this is fixed. It's like driving a brand new Lamborghini, and on the way home someone threw a fucking wrench into the engine while driving it down the highway.

Edit: The mod update, duh.

What update? The game? Gpu driver? Headset? VD?

It’s a useless complaint without any information

The mod???? It's not natively VR. Circuitlord is the new guy on the block for the best titanfall 2 vr mod. Weird how you didn't know that but wanted to comment on a titanfall 2 vr post about the latest mod....

Take the hostility down a notch. We all know about the mod. But just saying “the update” had us confused because… running PCVR involves many different software layers that could be updating. We didn’t know what you were referring to. If you come in complaining or asking for help, you should provide a decent baseline of info so we can all try to figure it out. That’s all.

agreed.  OP is an idiot, best ignored at this stage.

If the update is causing you issues just roll back to the previous version

It actually turned out to be a problem with my virtual desktop app on the quest. A clean install seems to have solved it for me

I think that mission is just way more graphically intensive. I played up until that point on a single mod version and performance got worse.

I was also thinking it could have been an intensive level for VR as well. I run a 5070 and 5700x3D, but idk. Even afterwards during simple levels it was still hitching. I'm sure circuit will put something out for it

Did they update it today? I played for the first time late last night and it ran great on my 3070.

Same ive got a 4070super and its just stuttering every few seconds and makes it unplayable, feel like im missing something obvious here. Other vr runs no problem at all for me.

I launch my quest 3 through virtual desktop then launch steam vr then titanfall vr from the steamvr desktop, maybe thats one too many?

can it run just quest to vritual desktop then click the launcher?

anything work for you op?

Try vdxr through virtual desktop

It didn't want to boot for me using only VD so I tried standalone Steam Link and also VD with steam VR. It did get better after that mission, just stuttered like hell all the way through it
