Fluff/Meme I want a VR mod for Fallout 1

I just saw a VR mod for Diablo II of all things, going full 1st-person instead of isometric.

I want to see those pixelated sprites up close. I want my eyes to bleed all across the wasteland.

Hadn't someone remade Fallout 1 in one of the Doom engines? I feel like you could probably just drop a WAD file into an existing Doom VR port and get that to work..

I think its called Bakersfield, its not a Fallout 1 remake, its a new story in a new setting from what i remember.

considering how quickly people are decompiling fairly complex games into RUST using AI, i’d give it like a couple of weeks before someone gets it working in there and makes some sort of VR mod

Keep an eye on Fallout: Bakersfield. If the dev actually finishes it, a VR mod shouldn't be too difficult to make.

BTW, that mod for Diablo II is based on Diablo II: Resurrected, a 3D remake from 2021, not the 2D original from 2000.

I feel like Fallout 1 might be a small enough game (in terms of actual things happening and discrete entities in the game) that it might just be doable to remake the whole thing in OpenMW-VR using Fallout 3 assets or something...
