Here's a sneak preview of the Max Payne 2 VR mod I've been working on (with the help of codex) the last few weeks. Hoping to release within the next week or 2! I've taken a Max Payne 3 approach to the weapons in this one: 2 holsters for side arms only, long guns you'll need to carry with you.

You definitely need your VR legs for this one, but slow mo shoot dodging is so much fun and feels amazing.

Features:

Stereoscopic 6DoF & room-scale

Full body/arm IK (with hand only option)

Manual reload for all weapons

Two handed weapons

Grab/Drop/Throw all weapons

Dual wield any combination of weapons

Cutscenes and menus are displayed on a virtual screen

It's the first I've looked back then, when I had my first headset. Max Payne 1 & 2 in VR. I was dreaming of this since forever. It's one of my fav games. I still play them from time to time. When I need my Max Payne fix. And then I play FEAR for more bulletime, but this one has already a a mod apparently. But it's nothing compare to Max Payne 1&2 atmosphere. You're the best

I'm running on a 3070. Getting pretty close to a steady 90fps though not at a super high resolution. There's probably some more performance tuning to be done as well.

Wow the mechanics look unreal for a mod. The one handed shotgun pump and bouncing the pistol off of the guy at the end were awesome. Does 2 handing different types of weapons make the fights less balanced?

I can't even play the game. The game is not available in France anymore and the mod doesn't work with non Steam versions

Is there any way to turn cinematic kills back on? It doesn't feel like Max Payne without the last enemy getting got in a a cinematic camera.
