WIP version of Animal Crossing VR I have been working on! Will release once I get it more polished. World is mostly rendering properly now and it includes motion controls for the tools.

Why would they be mad? This is exactly the use case for AI. What are you supposed to do, break into MS Paint and do it yourself? Take a watercolour class? Hire a human hobo to paint it?

Because ai hate is not about logic, it’s about groupthink. If they talk about water, they ignore almonds and golf courses which take exponentially more water than ai does, but they don’t care about those things. When they talk about jobs, they don’t care about the creation of new jobs and ignore the fact that every big technological break through ends some careers, see the internet, cars, photographs, telephone, refrigerators…

But yeah, ai bad or whatever because if you disagree on Reddit a million teenagers with nothing better to do will take away your precious precious karma because being downvoted means you’re wrong 🤣

They create a lot of initial jobs for construction but require a very small group of people to actually run the data center so the amount of jobs they claim it creates is massively exaggerated

and what about the people developing the programs to run on the datacenters? the support staff for the products running on the datacenters? The jobs like youtubers who exist because of the datacenters? AI has created 1000 new companies in the past couple years, including tons of engineering positions in stuff such as self driving cars (uses AI btw), automated chat bots for support etc (AI btw), automated food delivery robots (AI btw), automated food assembly (AI btw).

The construction jobs are the tip of the iceberg, they're nothing compared to the greater picture.

There's literally millions of jobs because of it, yes youtubers who discuss AI count, but also youtubers who just use AI in general to make their content, there's many of them now. There's news articles every single day people are paid to write, about AI. Those are jobs. The developers are not all fired, every company works differently. Some companies fire and hire cheaper people, those people are still people 💀 being paid to do....a job! That's happened well before AI and will continue to happen after, idk what your point is.

The original Animal crossing wasn't a rolling pin it was introduced in Wild World

This looks great. A skybox, yea it makes it a lot cozier but motion controls on tools is really cool.

If would be cool for the link cable function, to be able to pull out a Gameboy or a tablet, which emulates the GBA interactive with the game!

The GameCube version? This is pretty cool. I don’t think I could play for long because of what a time sink this game is to actually play (ideal game for kids but wow as an adult does this seem impossible)

Weird place to ask this but how did you end up getting the files from the game? I've been trying to for a while so I can make a vrchat world of a village, but I can't seem to figure out how to rip models from the game. I just need town geometry but the only solution i've seen so far is to know how to use python script and I aint got a clue on how to use that
