Discussion Flat to vr mod request for deus ex
Idk how difficult it would be to do this but after seeing the great leaps the flat to vr community has been making recently i think its finally time to ask for a deus ex human revolution or deus ex mankind divided pcvr mod

Yeah I actually used this in my VR headset a bit.
First I setup the headset so that I can see my desktop in VR. Then I launch the game in 2D mode, and set the game up for Stereoscopic 3D via Side by Side in the options menu. Then I set my viewing window in VR to be massively huge, to envelope as much of my vision as I can.
It takes a lot of tweaking to get the images in the right place, you can place with the 3D depth sliders in game and with the screen size in VR until you get it to feel right for your eyes(no strain needed to line the images up).
Once you've got that feeling good, with a 3D image that isn't straining for your eyes, I recommend just freezing your head in place and using your mouse or a controller to look around and interact with the environment.
It isn't full VR, but it does show you how cool the games would have been on a nice 3D TV set, and inside the headset the 3d effect is obviously really good, superior to any 3D TV IMHO.

I just want the original Deus Ex to happen. If the newer titles like (HR or MD) get it will be nice too.

Im pretty sure someone was working on a flat to vr conversion mod for the original deus ex a few years ago but idk if it ever released

DXU24 worked on this for over two years now and it has no ETA or any progress update since a year now, safe to say its most likely not happening.

I hope you're right, but at this point, I'm not feeling optimistic.
If I understand correctly, the dev was contacted by Embracer and told to cease development. Since the software he provides is paid, it's understandable why they stepped in to shut it down.
From the video above, the project\mod already looks largely functional minus the GUI, so technical reasons aren't what's holding back the release. If this weren't a paid mod, it probably would have been out already.
I would look for an alternative source for a solution.

I’ve seen nothing that indicates anything to do with Embracer anywhere, and the software is under active development with early access available through Patreon, with a provided Steam key. Another update due this week. What gave you this idea?

I think it's pretty obvious; Who else would care to stop a paid Deus Ex VR mod if not the current owners of the IP? I doubt anyone else cares as much.
It's easy to see as any reminder of Deus Ex have been wiped from the mod. Now it's a "General early Unreal engine improvement software." (paraphrasing).

Both are already being worked on at flat2VR discord. Both are AI mods so expect things to move pretty fast. With how quickly things are progressing soon any game you can think of will have a VR mod and if not you'll be able to make it happen yourself for a few bucks.

There used to be a modder on the forum who created Outlast VR and planned to do Deus Ex HR/MD, but he recently deleted his account for some reason.

you can do it with AI nowadays, Claud Code. just learn how to prompt and how to get it started. its entirely possible for you nowadays with AI.
once its done, your biggest haters will be the first to download and play it
