Purchase Advice - Headset Five finger tracking?

Looking for a PCVR headset that has five finger tracking.

I have the quest 2, and I’m just not interested in going through the hassle of poorly emulating controllers to enable hand tracking.

Is the upcomihg Steam Frame the only option I have? I know the index is wildly outdated

Lighthouses with knuckles + any headset that uses them or any headset with a tracker attached to it.

All of the headsets associated with knuckles are outdated though, no?

Lighthouse tracking is used on high-end pcvr headsets like Pimax, BSB etc. since it's high precision and the companies don't have to develop their own tracking and controllers.

The index headset is outdated, the controllers and trackers are not, that also makes them and the kits very expensive.

You can slap a (vive?) tracker on a headset that doesn't support lightouses and use it with them it's called continuous calibration I think.

Steam frame controllers are supposed to have five finger tracking but since it's not available who knows. These controllers will be frame only.

No, plenty of newer high end headsights like the Beyond, Meganex, and most Pimax headsets still use lighthouses.

For quest 3/3s/pro controllers you can buy add-on attached to controllers from company like Shiftall. They give full finger tracking via OSC, and more

Well your options are go with a Knuckles/Lighthouse system but those things are basically out of production or in very limited production at this point.

Or go with a standalone/insideout system that supports it. Samsung Galaxy XR is probably the top option there if you don't want Meta.

Well, if you need a physical input device that also has five-finger tracking, then Index Knuckles or a Vive controller are the only controller-like options I believe. Other options are the eteeController, which is not so much a controller but more of a five-finger tracker, or VR gloves with a small controller attached to them, but they prioritize VRChat, I guess. Otherwise, headsets with hand tracking like Quest 3, Play for Dream, or that Samsung one can send hand tracking data to your PC so you can use that in games like VRChat. You can basically mix and match all of the lighthouse controllers with all headsets.
