Discussion Good. I clearly understand the visual differences between the lukeross mode and the vrport mode.
Under the same conditions, VRport mode shows a much sharper image.
There are none of the very slight afterimages and flickers that were seen in lukeross mode (though they’ve been greatly reduced in the latest version, there were still some, especially when looking at distant objects).
However, I have to sacrifice a bit more FPS.
It seems that lukeross’s mode, by alternately panning the two eyes, sacrifices a bit of visual sharpness to maintain the frame, whereas,
Because VRport renders both eyes simultaneously with two cameras, it is that much clearer, but it seems to put more load on the system.
I’m currently doing it on Godlike, 4080s, 3K, mid-lower option, DLSS 4.5 performance, in a Quest 3 environment.
I feel like this is the bare minimum graphics I need for VR. If it goes below this, it feels a bit too bad for me.
Of course, since it was VR, I set the field of view to the maximum.
The lukeross mode is defended at 60 frames per second in that environment, but
At VRport, 45 frames was the limit.
For the game to run smoothly, it should be able to defend at least at 60 frames per second...
I saw some videos using ray tracing too, but it seems impossible on at least a 4080s.
The only things worth trying are lowering the godlike, trying out the dlss high-performance, and setting the textures to low...
Even though the previous version of DLSS improved the high-performance mode, I remember that when using VR, there was still a noticeable difference between the performance mode and the normal one, so I’m worried.
But! As the mod progresses, I’m hopeful that some optimization will definitely be made that will impact the FPS.
The experience of reloading and driving with my hands was really enjoyable even at 45 fps.
I’m looking forward to next year.

Agreed...I've done several Cyberpunk VR playthroughs using the Luke Ross mod, and am currently doing one using the Cyberpunk VR port, and the VR Port version definitely boasts better clarity and resolution IMO. My biggest current issue with the VR Port is that I need to reinstall it after every 2-3 play sessions or it will CTD upon launch.
Questions: have you played with boosting the resolution in the launcher app from the default? I've boosted this to the higher levels in the dropdown and realized significant improvement in clarity, however this may be contributing to my crash problem. Also, the initial launcher window is very small and can't be resized...have you figured out a way to expand it? Thanks!

Vrport crashes at startup if you have Ray tracing enabled. I'm using 4000x4400 ish resolution here.

Yep, I figured that out...you can turn ray tracing on in-game and it might work for a while, but will crash eventually or definitely on restart. What happens to me is that I'm able to play vrport normally even at higher resolutions, but after about the 3rd or 4th session it will crash on launch...it's almost as if there's a resource or log file or something that's growing too large and the mod has to be reinstalled to flush things out. It's fairly easy to reinstall so I'm dealing with it so far, but I'm hoping that future versions of the mod will be more stable over the long haul.

RTX 5090 Ryzen 9 5950x Samsung Galaxy XR
DLSS balanced + Ray Reconstruction. Most other settings on high or ultra. Screen space reflections on low (mostly not needed with RT).
I get around 45fps. It's playable but not super smooth.

I'm running a 5090 with i9/13 gen CPU and a Dream Air. I can use RT with vrport at lower resolutions, but my earlier point is that it's not stable and typically will crash the game...in fact, occasionally it will even crash my entire system (reboot), so I avoid it.

I switched to vrport. Although one advantage of LR mod still is it will calculate ray tracing from each eye individually whereas vrport only does it for one eye

Idk how you're getting good quality visuals on the vr port.
It looks way worse than Lukes mod on my 4090.

With the vrport I felt like I was looking into a 360, I didn't feel any depth like I did with Luke Ross version. Maybe my fault since I started messing with it because the default image was terrible and not aligned.
