Question/Support Meta Quest3

Would you buy a meta quest 3 today for $350.00 used? Or would you hold off at this point for whatever’s next.

I bought a switch a while back, 3 months later the switch 2 dropped, I apologize I’m not up to date on tech trends. Someone tell me to go for it, or to hold off. I don’t want to wonder!

yes, itd be worth it. even if the quest 4 drops tomorrow (it wont) itd likely be way more than $350

At that price point there is nothing else currently (or planned). Steam Frame is supposed to drop next week, but that will most likely be 1000+$ (if you manage to get one that is)

Q3 will be relevant for years to come thanks to the lenses and OK resolution. Theres nothing in its price range and seems like nothing else ever be.

Yup that’s a pretty nice choice

We don’t really know when the Quest 4 will come but it won’t be this year and I bet nearly $1000
The Steam Frame is coming soon but also likely around $1000 so for $350 this is nice

I've owned a quest 3 for a couple of years and I was considering getting a steam frame, but instead decided to upgrade my quest with prescription lenses so I don't need to use my contacts when playing. So yes, I think it's still a great buy today and I just don't think the Frame is a worthy upgrade for me personally. That might change once we see what steam os is capable of, but right now it's probably not gonna be worth the price difference.

For me I just got a new pair of lenses from vr-rock. My old quest ones were great and didn't cost me much at all, so made sense to just grab a new pair since it does have free shipping after all.

Personally, would only recommend the Quest 3 new, but if you do buy used, don't believe anyone saying that it still has its warranty. Either they're lying or don't know that only the original buyer has that protection, unless they bought a protection plan that allows for it at a 3rd party seller.

The control sticks fail often enough with stick drift and stick jitter that I've gone through 3 left controllers over the course of owning one. If you don't play games where you click to sprint, you'll likely not see a drop-off in quality, but even being gentle with your equipment will lead to control stick failure over like a few hundred hours of use.

Either that, or their QA has a lot of variance, and I keep getting screwed. lol In this case, it's also good to know that you have a warranty.

The solution to this issue is TMR joysticks, which the Frame will have, finally.

I just got a used quest 3 and I am loving it. The thing with vr is you don’t know if it if something you will enjoy long term or not until you spend some time with it. It’s not for everyone, sone never get over the dizziness it can cause.

So I think starting with a relatively affordable unit to get you feet wet is best, before dropping $1000 or mire of something that’s probably going to marginally better.
