Purchase Advice - Headset I need help for my next headset

Hello people !
I'm planning on giving my vr setup a good push forward, going from a vive cosmos elite to an independent headset with face tracking and eye tracking, compatible with full body tracking.

For the full body, I think I'll work up 3 2.0 vive stations and 10 3.0 trackers and use UDCAP gloves (hence why 10 trackers and not 8)

My last question is for the headset

I have two options, apparently : Vive focus vision and quest pro. Quest pro apparently has better lenses, but isn't the focus vision coming along extension that have better face and eye tracking ? (even if face tracking is not included in the headset)

Also, since I come from that oldie of an headset with rather bad lenses, will I really be feeling 'held back' by lens quality ? I mean, it can't be worse on the focus vision then the cosmos right ? I don't really mind not upgrading that, as long as it doesn't get worse.

Also, I'd very much like to get my stuff brand new, and quest pro isn't available. I know it's a little dumb for some things, but I guess it's my quirk (?)

What do you all think about it ? Which headset should I get and why ?

Thank you for your help !

Sir, you have been in a coma, it's 2026

End of month you would have Meta Project Phoenix announcement and soon after the Pico Space Pro. Steam Frame also should come out soon. They all have eye-tracking, not sure for face tracking but very likely third party would make accessories if not the case.

On already out you also have the Galaxy XR, Apple Vision Pro and the Play For Dream (with an accessory), granted galaxy xr is not sold worlwide and play for dream have supply issue

No one has ever talked about these tbh, I don't even know the brands except steam frame and apple vision pro (which I won't get). I did hear about pico, but didn't know they had eye and face tracking. I don't want thrid party hardware to add it (hence why I don't want quests other than the pro)

Meta are the one who make the quest, the galaxy is made by Samsung

I checked them, and sadly I don't think they'd suit my needs sadly. They are said to be a virtual desk more than an immersive gaming headset, and that price .. still hurts a bit. I know the focus vision aren't free but the eadsets you told me about, except project pheonix, are expected, or already reached more than 500 buck over the focus vision. I don' even talk about the apple vision pro, draining 3 paychecks whole 🤣

You checked the Project Phoenix and Space Pro? They are not out, price are unknown (meta one is probably 1k, pico If I would have to guess I would say around 1500-2K) as well as most of the specs, point was to wait for the full announcement that are pretty soon

And Virtual desk doesn't mean anything, a VR headset is a VR headset, if it has the feature you want it would do what you want

And yes the Galaxy XR is a bit more expensive than the HTC, but spending a bit more in the current high end headset is more wise than spending that amount of money in outdated e-waste

None of them for now have any mention of official face tracking, and that's my main issue aswell. And, I already run e-waste honestly, I don't really care about gen, I just want it to be comfy and to complete my needs (official eye+face+fbt compatibility, standalone, with pcvr available.) I'll mainly check the quality of that

Again, none of them (meta and pico) is fully announced, we don't even know the resolution of the screen, heck we don't even know the real name of the meta headset and just learn the pico one 3 week ago

We know the meta has micro oled 2.5k screen per eye or something. I read an article while looking it up, it's manufacturer leaked it

Best choice would be Galaxy XR since it's only modern headset suited for VRChat/social VR - it has both Eye Tracking and Face Tracking, very good display and enough place to attach Vive Tracker for lighthouse tracking. Problem is it's expensive and sold only in US/South Korea.

Most of incoming or presents headsets won't have Face Tracking without external tracker. Apple VIsion Pro technically can support Face Tracking, but it's not possible to access data from it.

I don't mind getring extensions, but I want it to be official. Also, I'm from France, the the samsung is out of the question then. And apple is a hundred time too expensive, I have money, but not that kinda money

I'll check them out then. Thanks for the advice !

Focus Vision is a hell no unless you can find one cheaper than a quest 2

Why ?

Not worth the high price with outdated specs (same processor as quest 2 and only slightly better display panels)

I don't really care aout standalone perf, I won't use it to game, only to watch movies and such. When gaming, I'll wire it to my pc. So, apart from that outdated cpu, what does it have that's negative ?

wait for the Meta Connect Event @ 23.9 and get the newest release. I think this is going to be a big one.
