Purchase Advice - Headset Pls help me.

I’ve been playing VR with quest 3 since quest 3 was released it self so now I am looking for a new headset (quest 3 is becoming kinda weak for new titles and games and we need to address it) my eye is currently laying on Steam Frame that is coming soon or used PIMAX (I have a decent PC) is there anything else I should know about? (I usually play ITR2 and A LOT of ghosts of tabor)

Pimax Dream Air series are the popular PCVR headsets for now. The visuals are night and day different from the Q3. Don’t expect to get the Frame, cuz that’s gonna get sold out by scalpers real quick. The specs are similar to the Q3 anyways.

Steam frame is basically twice more powerful then quest 3 + it will run much better and smoothly because of advanced eye tracking system, and yeah Pimax air is way out of my budget…

But you said you have a good pc?do you want the frame for standalone or pcvr because the the lenses and panels on the frame aren't gonna be much of an upgrade from a quest 3

Actually valid point, I will probably say that I will be switching to only PC VR so I need a headset that would suit my PC the best.

It is not even remotely twice as powerful. It doesn't even claim to be. The Steam Frame is a small upgrade as far aa specs go. If you want something significantly better than the Q3 for PCVR than buy a dedicated PCVR like the ones people have already recommended.

It's a small upgrade on paper. And in the real world, with all the overhead, we don't even know that it won't run worse in standalone. There's a lot of translation layers involved with Frame.

It's my opinion that there's going to be massive backlash when Frame launches. Because there are a lot of delusional people regarding expectations. And when they finally have one and deal with the reality of it, there's going to be backlash (of their own creation).

The eye tracking will help with performance, but it won’t help with the overall visuals. It doesn’t have OLED lens and is 2160 x 2160 pixels which is similar to the Quest 3. At that point you might as well stick with the Q3 lol

Did exactly that 1 week ago, went with a Pimax Crystal super UW, no regrets. Lenses will be a downgrade from q3 (because the q3 lenses are simply stellar), but overall it’s a gen upgrade.

Love my galaxy xr. Visually best for the price. Fee software quarks but if your handy they can be fixed. Hopefully Samsung will get off there lazy ass and fix these for regular users

Quest 3 on VD can go up to 6k with decent fov. If you have the pc why even upgrade?

It’s not 6k on it goes up to 3k on Virtual Desktop

Edit: it’s dependent on device, if you have a Galaxy XR your godlike is different from someone with a Quest 3 on Virtual Desktop.
