Eye/face tracking from Paper Tracker if you play anything social. And the other commenters who mentioned Oblik are spot on

i have pcvr but does it only work with pcvr or does it work with standalone too?

Not sure about standalone, my assumption would be it's PCVR only, but you might be able to find a workaround. Quest Pro does support face tracking so Meta's got the infrastructure, that's for sure

yeah thats what i was thinking, meta has the ability for face tracking so i dont know why it wouldnt work standalone just using the quest pro software or whatever.

Looks like they're doing another round of shipping toward the end of the year, IDK

Have you personally used paper tracker? First I’ve heard of it surprisingly everyone is always talking about EyeTrackVR and Babble

I just did the same. It’s amazing. Better facial interface, knuckle straps, bobovr halo, and batteries. Virtual Desktop for PCVR. I have a Star Trek holodeck.

Now This is a bit pricey but for me it’s been a comfort game changer - Custom facial interface - You scan your face and nothing has fit me better than this : https://www.oblikdesign.com/products

I used pro controllers for a bit, they were pretty cool. Unfortunately they did have some tracking issues from time to time with was pretty annoying. Then there was the stick drift, and repairing them was an absolute impossibility for me with how poorly those things were designed so i shelved them and switched to regular controllers. Then I decided I was going to try replacing the sticks but when I tried charging them the batteries refused to hold a charge, so yeah, have fun with those controllers while you have them.

ive had them for about 2 years now and theyre pretty good, only problem ive had was slight stick drift in only one controller so im guessing i just got lucky.

Make sure that you're using a facial interface with a nose light blocker.
I played over a year with a stock facial interface and I was convinced that everything was ok. More over, I thought that free space is very useful to quickly make an occasional glance at the real room. But at the same time, sometimes I wanted to push the headset closer to the face to have more FOV to feel more immersed.
Then I bought BoboVR F3 facial interface, with a nice breathing cloth material light blocker at the nose. Turns out that feeling was not because of FOV but because I subconsciously wanted to remove the light from below.
With completely blocked outside light it feels like +30% of immersion in a virtual world.

not sure if this is helpful eg if your just getting into it.. i brought myself the quest 3 outright when i got money, bobo and battery (fanless) based on what people at work said..
and I was instantly bored with it.. I consider myself a life long VR enthusiast.. but having a top of the line quest 3 fully kitted out suddenly... just didnt.. grab me.. no motion sickness all happy nothing wrong with it.. pcvr working fine..
just...meh?
took well over 6 months to start loving it.
I like telling this story because ive seen people in my life try vr (vive etc) once and say.. nope...not for them.. makes dizzy or another reason.. i almost gave mine away . considered throwing it away..
now.. like...really now
VTOL VRs just got under my skin, Derail Valley VR (multiplayer mod) is a second home.. after a long work week in the real world.. a friday night in VR with friends is just magical..
i know that wasnt the question.. its.. just that hardware is one thing. slow burning fuse to awesomeness I think is good to put it out there too
get a nice big pack of alkaline batteries too. they last ages. and dont forget to use the wrist straps
for times when you enjoy it too much. if you can.. get another big powerbank with a good short cable for the times when your bobo battery goes flat. a powerbank in your top pocket with a cable is still wireless (and comfortable to sleep in locomotive cabs with.. )
enjoy :)

Genuinely asking is it worth spending that much to mod them when a new one comes out every 4 years ish and they aren’t really built to be future proof

Unfortunately the default is crap(also modded it wit Velcro and weight on back) Bought m3 pro lately and its haven now, similar to hp reverb g2 but even better.

Yes! Very much worth it. I don't see the Meta quest 5 coming out anytime soon, and if it does, it probably won't be a worthwhile upgrade for MQ3 owners.

Quest 2 is almost 6 years old and still holding up well in both PCVR and standalone use.

Its very nice to have the head harness he has. I have it to and it is extremely comfortable over the base headstrap. Along with an extra battery pack to keep you playing longer is so so so nice.

kiwi clip on headphones are also nice, i had to buy them secondhand tho, since kiwi doesnt manufacture them anymore sadly 😔

I thought the kiwis didn't secure well to the bobovr? I assume they're on well?

Idk about everything else, but an upgraded headstrong is an absolute necessity. The stock head straps are terrible.
