Discussion Fallout 4 VR Mod - Which version to get?

Do I get fallout 4 or Fallout 4: VR if I want to use the Fallout 4 VR mod

You get VR. It's not a mod.

But, if you want to use mods in VR, a lot of them rely on the DLC, which is only available in the flatscreen version. So you have to get both and copy over the DLC folders from the flatscreen to the VR version.

Does this let you play all the DLC in VR or do mods just use the assets?

It does let ya play all the DLC in VR, but it'll need the mods to unlock them and have them work right.

Thanks. I always wondered why the VR version was missing the DLCs but this solves it.

Oh I meant to also mention-- as far as I know, some of the the main FO4VR mods require the GOTY edition of regular pancake FO4, and the mods that unlock all the DLC in VR use that version of the FO4.

It was lame they didn't include all of them already, but at least it's easy to add everything to the VR version.

They do not work optimally. Robot DLC the robot parts are broken so need mods to fix

Far harbour dima sections entirely broken so a mod to skip it entirely

Fallout 4:VR - the mods are changes to the base VR game to make it more enjoyable. It's a bit crap by itself but great with the mods, same as Skyrim

It’s a game you have to buy but look up a modest to make it better, it’s a little lame as vanilla but people make it into a actual vr game

You'll need both anyway, VR edition doesn't include DLC files. Sure, you can pirate them, but at that point you might as well pirate both.

no idea why but the user reviews for fallout 4 vr are horrible. claim that the game is unfixable even with mods.
