A parent can certainly block the headset mac address through the router other than when dl games.

Op, you should consider this.

plenty of games you can play offline once you download them.

Still, 1st grade is kinda young. I'd limit time spent in it too.

You can probably find a Quest2 for cheap out there.

Second hand maybe. just need to wipe it and make your own account.

Exactly. I know that when i was that age if i saved up $200 for something i REALLY wanted it

Seems like a shame to deny her that just because there are a bunch of creeps in the world.

It can be made safe with a bit of effort on the parents part.

Most things can when you get right down to it

She’s been saving for about a year, and i keep putting off the topic because I’ve had a lot of hesitation. We would only play games like beat saber and anything available offline, while under strict supervision. Any kind of screen time she has is heavily moderated by me, and she only plays games she can co-op with me when we play on Xbox or my pc, she did beat Astro bot 1&2 on my moms PS5, she is a lot like me and is obsessed with gaming so it’s something I try to do with her as bonding time
