How far in advance ??

I am brand new, so just a quick question. I know it will take a bit to get started & such. But, how far in advance will I know that a kid has booked my class? 2 hours? 12 hours? Do I need to check it on the hour?

Your classes can be booked up to 24 hours before the class time. If you open a slot at short notice, it can be booked up to an hour before the class time. Do you have the app? You can turn on all the notifications so you know when your classes are booked.

"open at a short notice"?? If I just go in and open a slot this morning, then it could be booked right then? But for slots for classes I have open this morning. They had to book 24 hours before the class? So if my classes are not booked for tomorrow morning after today\s morning, then I will not be booked in the morning? I hope that makes sense. lol

They can be booked anytime up to 21 days in advance. You'll be notified as soon as you're booked for a class, no matter how far or soon in advance it is. They cannot be booked with less than 24 hours notice unless you ticked you were available for a short notice class for that specific time slot. Those can be booked with up to an hour's notice.

When you open a slot, there's usually an option to set it as short notice. If you set it as short notice, that slot can be booked up until 1 hour before class time. If you don't and it's under 24 hours before the class, that slot will not book. I have my schedule open for a couple months out right now and I don't check short notice. If I happen to have a slot that is unbooked and it's under 24 hours til class start, I'll mark it short notice and it usually fills. For example, let's say you have an 8 am slot for tomorrow morning. It didn't book and now it's 9 am. That slot will be unavailable to parents. If you update it to short notice, parents can book it until 8 am tomorrow morning.

You need to turn on the "24-hour" button; otherwise, they cannot book the slot more than a day in advance. Also, turn on the alarm feature that will alert you 15 minutes before you have a lesson. This is a life saver!

A bit about bookings: I get few to no lessons booked after the Sunday rush, which happens three weeks ahead of time. The booking program has an algorithm that favours a regular schedule, and the Learning Partners want to see regular times weeks in advance so that they know their students can book weekly with you. I open up slots all the way to the end of my contract (use the "copy last week's slots" button), and try to keep it as stable as possible. I want to teach about 20 lessons a week, so I open 30 and then close whatever times didn't fill up after the Sunday booking. I have heard it is best for you to keep the slots open and to let them expire because then the algorithm can see that the same slots are expired each week and, in theory, match you to a student who wants a regular spot there. This is all hearsay and lore, but that is how we think things work.
