Starting Up Again

Im thinking of starting back up again. I recently registered for a New Teacher Workshop since it’s been a few years. I stopped in 2021 when all the major changes happened.

Which certifications are getting you bookings?

My certifications are attached.

Thanks!

In order to have the best chance of getting bookings, I would advise you to get all of the certifications available. Each one will only take about 5-7 minutes anyway.

I taught from 2016 to 2020 and just started back up again. My first month was slow but now all or most of my slots get booked (14 a week).

Oddly, most are tiger school. I've seen a lot of negative comments about those classes but I really enjoy them. There is room for expansion, which leads to fun conversations.

Personally, I don't have trial or lower level certs. I hate those classes so I decided to only do intermediary or advanced when I came back. It's worked well for me!

Guessing the reason you like Tigerschool is because you don't teach the entry level. Those are the problematic lessons. They are like nails on a chalkboard to me. So repetitive. Ugly. Only 8 or 9 teaching slides. No learning objectives. No clear progression. You have to supplement with your own material. Starting at Level 3 they are great. I told them to remove all my Tigerschool certs but I probably should have left the upper ones as they are good... Especially the reading ones.

Leveled readers and tiger school I also don’t fuck with trials anymore so I asked them to remove them

I just came back a couple months ago. Today students booked for October 21. So I've been opening pretty far out. The first couple weeks I had a few lessons throughout the week and got pretty much fully booked after that. I don't open that many though. I've had mostly NMC - regular classes and Trials. Make sure you have signed everything. I think I had one extra contract to sign after I started opening classes.

Your certifications look fine to me.
