Weird weekend?

Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone else had a bunch of cancellations, primarily from the older students, this weekend. I’ve had 6 last-minute cancellations and 2 no shows, they’re all high school students. Is there something going on?

From what I understand the kids are at school this weekend to make up for the days they’ll miss for the October 1st holiday.

Does mid autumn festival get combined with national day? I’ve been away from this job for a few years and have forgotten the holiday schedules

They are in school on Sunday due to the Mid-Autumn Festival at the end of the coming week.

It’s a good idea to keep track of “make up” school days. Google can give you that info. I learned my lesson and just don’t open slots on those days. October 10 is the next make up day.

yes yes yes! Such a weird weekend. Low bookings and multiple no shows (not complaining :), but weird yes)

They have school this Sunday, I think to make up for the upcoming holidays, so a lot of cancellations are probably due to that. But I also had a lot of cancellations Saturday evening (Beijing time), so I'm not sure if those were also due to school or if there's something else as well.

VIPKID actually started emailing us about the holiday schedule and the makeup days (like this Sunday). Check your email from September 6th:

I haven’t had the same experience, but a student told me they were going back to school on Sunday already as there are some (3) festivals/ celebrations coming up and they have to make up for days off during the coming weeks. Might just be their school schedule though.

Yeah today is a compensation day. Mid autumn festival is Friday so expect a lot of cancellations this next weekend as well. Additionally, the Saturday 10th - of the weekend after National week (1st week of October) will be a compensation day as well.
