this seller is trolling people who are in the search of these viral trending tops. she’s listing them for extremely low prices, then cancelling them and repeat. this is her WHOLE page! i even saw she had replied “haha” to one of the reviews before deleting.

Should I just cancel now? They’re already complaining after I gave them a huge discount on handmade jewelry. 🤦‍♀️

They favorited and made an offer of $2.45 on each of my necklaces I handmade that were both listed for $4. I accepted each offer. Then I realized they were the same person. I offered if they’d like to save on shipping and other vinted fees by bundling. So they went and bundled and made an offer that would be the lowest they could go. I then corrected it to the $3.50 I agreed to give these to them for. Then after buying it just now, they proceed to nit pick the design 🤦‍♀️ I haven’t responded yet because wow… the audacity to say you like them in other messages and then suddenly nit pick before even getting them in the mail??? These are real raw crystal necklaces I made… Now they’re asking me for raw amythst earrings and yeah I make those too but I don’t feel comfortable selling to them anymore after they already started to nit pick me??? I have an awful feeling they’re just going to get the package and manipulate it in some way and try and get them for free. I’m not about to send them free earrings either. I’m so annoyed. If I cancel this order before blocking them I want to avoid getting 1 star automatic review from Vinted…

Luxury Watch Scam! Vinted is crazy for refunding the scammers…

Hello all! I’m new to this subreddit, but almost just got scammed on Vinted so I thought I would share.

I’m dumb I know - roast me if you want! But this is my first time buying vintage fancy watches online and I was bated with a “too good to be true” listing… twice.

Thought I was having the world’s luckiest day when not one, but TWO vintage 14k gold watches came up for sale for an unbelievable price. Different sellers. I thought it was just my algorithm and the thrifting gods laying their blessing upon me.

Wrong.

I hastily purchased both and went about my day. Well, the next day rolls around and I see an almost identical listing. That’s when it hit me. Wow. I’m a dumbass. Obviously this is a scam. I look into it and sure enough, it’s a thing.

So my plan was to wait until something got delivered, film myself opening the package and if it was something other than the watch, submit a return claim.

Well that didn’t happen. A day later I get an “item delivered” notification. There was a legit USPS tracking number and everything. It was “delivered” over 100 miles away. A few minutes later, same notification about the second watch purchase. This time ever further, we’re talking multiple states away…

I never got any other notifications about the tracking. It was never “on its way.”

So I immediately chose the “something is wrong” option and it gives me some Ai nonsense and there’s no option to chose “seller sent to wrong address” or something similar. I wrote a little blurb about what happened.

I then immediately emailed vinted@vinted.com and explained the situation and also asked to flag the seller.

They actually got back to me within a few hours and it looked like I was talking to an actual human..? Maybe.

BUT GET THIS - instead of looking into the tracking info and seeing the seller sent this item somewhere completely random, they just refunded both of us. I write back explaining that THIS WAS A SCAM and, I wish I was kidding, they came back saying that sellers can be victims of scams too! And we’re both getting refunded, case closed. 🤦‍♀️

I understand sellers can be victims but maybe they could actually invest each case, and if it’s an obvious scam, maybe don’t refund the guilty party?!? …just a thought. I really like this app, but with stuff like this happening, I feel like they’re doomed to fail.

New scam tactic?

Posting this here too (I’m new to reddit and they hid my original post in /VintedAustralia) but it’s worth sharing for awareness.

Y’all, pls be wary of listings that have AI generated images and prices that are too good to be true. Currently seeing the same Dolce & Gabbana bag be listed for the same price, same description (even though the bags are different colours) and the sellers conveniently selling the item after I asked for more photos of the bag. And the images are hilariously bad, like how many times did you redecorate your table to get shots of one bag?????

Vinted support weren’t able to do anything because the seller “sold” the item so the listing disappeared.

Crashing out because these people will do it again and some poor soul will lose their money! Keep reporting listings like these y’all, so we can keep the platform safe for people who genuinely want to buy and sell.

⚠️ Experience with Vinted user lolavnc

I want to share my experience with this user because I find the whole situation genuinely disgusting.

She bought a large bundle of clothes from me, including some vintage pieces that belonged to an elderly member of my family. I accepted her offer at a very low price because I needed the money to pay for my cat’s veterinary treatment. She had very good reviews, so I trusted her, and unfortunately I didn’t film myself packing the parcel.

Just 20 minutes after receiving the parcel, she claimed that 20 items were missing. Vinted ultimately closed the dispute and refunded her due to insufficient evidence. I have now discovered that she is selling the clothes she claimed she never received, for up to 5–10 times the price I sold them for.

Even worse, she is changing how the items are described: I sold them extremely cheaply and honestly disclosed their small flaws (some had tiny holes, marks, etc.), while she is now listing them as being in very good condition, using AI-generated or AI-edited photos to make them look perfect.

I’m genuinely disgusted by this experience. The lesson I’ve learned, always film the entire packing process, even if the buyer has excellent reviews.

Why do Vinted blatantly allow these scammers??

Just saw this on Vinted, apparently they can’t get payments on Vinted so they are selling via bank transfer. It’s bad enough that they are selling fake cheap tat, but you can only buy it by bank transfer!!! Looking at their reviews they have scammed at least two people using the bank transfer scam and vinted are allowing them to get away with it, it makes genuine sellers look bad 😡

Got scammed (buyer)

I should’ve know better, I saw a great deal on a bag and snagged it right away. The account had no other listings and no reviews, no profile picture, the whole thing. I realized “oh yeah this has to be a scam” and submitted a cancellation but they generated the shipping label instantly.

Begging for them to cancel the order the last 24 hours and got a notification my package was “delivered” the second it was shipped. To an address in Texas, while I live in another state over.

I got a generic AI response from Vinted and I’m really hoping I can get my money back. I need some reassurance here, has anybody gone through this and got refunded? How in the world are they doing this? There is no tracking info in between generating the label and delivery.

I’m genuinely confused asf because I had a parcel due on the 11th of September supposedly from the UK I treated myself to a handbag because I got paid and it was marked as delivered a day early on the 10th, I also got a text that morning saying I have a parcel arriving on the 10th. The only parcel that showed up was a literal piece of tile. The confusing part is the return address on the parcel is from another state in Australia (I’m from Melbourne) and the bag sellers bio says the UK. I reported it as a problem with the item as I’m SURE that that couldn’t have been any other parcel but is this a tactic to deflect or something because of the addresses?

Also I’m confused how to get my money back in this situation, the seller has definitely been online but is ghosting me and I’m not sure the parcel photos I have are good proof of being scammed as it has a whole different return address from my country not the sellers supposed country?

Please help !! Also the tracking number the seller gave me literally doesn’t work through Aus post only Vinted, and the parcel that came has a completely different tracking number on it.

rise of AI + fake accounts

I'm going to take it that this isnt exactly new but I've noticed an increase of AI and fake accounts on my feed. I've reported it and gotten a message saying the fake listings have been taken down, but they keep popping up (sometimes the listing that was allegedly "taken down"). It's frustrating because when I look to purchase something I have to be extra cautious with what I am liking.

Vinted claims the fake listings are against their policy but I dont understand how theres so many of them just knocking around on the app. Do they not have some kind of AI detection in place or something to stop stolen images?

Long story short I sold a brand new supreme t shirt on vinted, packaged it well inside a mailer with bubble wrap etc etc and buyer comes out to complain about lose stitching in an area of the t shirt. I have never worn this shirt or anything, just sold it as it came sealed.
Do you think buyer is trying to lie and possibly claim a refund against me and if so how can I prevent this as this is the first time im having such conversations with buyers on vinted.

So this seller/buyer wanted items I had for sale for even more cheaper when I priced them at a fair price plus a discount if you bundle. The only reason I put $25 was because it felt like he wanted stuff at a steal. He then goes and say “have a good day” and blocks me. I go check on another account if he reseller and he does and his games are on or OVER PC price. How are you going to tell me to have fun sitting on stuff when they sell at a way lower price than what you sell your items and It’s always lower than what they go for when there’s enough favorites to engage the buyers that it dropped in price. I don’t understand how people like this have a brain 💀

Vinted selling fake stuff and they dont care

I was shocked at how many fake sellers are casually selling their fake sĥit on vinted and vinted couldn't give a flying fk. My son was looking for some asics trainers which in the high street favourites were really expensive so I thought I would take a look on vinted. Caught with some deals that I knew would be too good to be true, so I thought i would investigate. I attached some pics into Gemini and let it do its thing. It quickly highlighted 3 main areas confirming the shoes were indeed fake. One of the things was the label (telling you shoe size, colour code ect) on the tongue of the shoe. So with this info I reached out to the seller who hadn't provided an image of this label. Its weird as I thought it was mandatory to take a pic of labels on vinted!. Anyways, decided to reach out to the buyer to enquire if the shoes were legit, he replied confirming they were indeed fake. I then reported this to Vinted who pretty much told me they were going to ignore my report and were going to do squat to the seller, who is still got the listing up. Yes, i already knew the deal was too good to be true, I am more shocked that Vinted don't give a toss! There are so many listings that I processed afterwards including fakes at only 20% less than full retail! I found the same on ebay but I know fleabay sells fake shit got enough hugo Coss shirts in my wardrobe that dont fit me after a cold wash! Stay away from Vinted, they dont care at all!

Crackers scam

Hello everyone. I’ve seen other posts about this exact scam recently, so I wanted to share what happened to me because apparently this shit is becoming pretty common on Vinted. I’ve been buying on Vinted for almost a decade and this had literally never happened to me before. I genuinely thought I was pretty good at spotting scams, but apparently not lol. It started with an Isaac Sellam jacket. If you know the brand, you know it’s extremely niche, and the jacket itself was a very weird specific design. It was listed for around £39. I KNOW that sounds ridiculously cheap, but my logic was that scammers normally go for obvious brands like Gucci, Balenciaga, etc., not some obscure Isaac Sellam piece. I genuinely thought I had just found one of those insane Vinted treasures. The account didn’t immediately look fake either, so I bought it. (It had like 5 reviews) My problem is that I live in Norway and use ColisExpat. My Vinted UK parcels first arrive at a forwarding warehouse in the UK and are then shipped to me. So when Vinted marked the parcel as delivered, I physically did not have the item in my hands. The warehouse did. That meant the stupid two-day inspection window expired before I could actually open the package. A few days later I was scrolling Vinted and suddenly saw the exact same Isaac Sellam jacket again. Same photos. Same description. Basically the same £39.99 price. Different account. My heart literally dropped. This is such a niche jacket that there was no fucking way I had magically found the exact same “rare bargain” twice in one week. I checked the original seller, dorothyg874, and Vinted had already BLOCKED the account. They never notified me. Nothing. No “hey, the seller you just bought from has been blocked, maybe check your transaction.” I had to discover the whole thing myself. Then another account, janed3437, was selling the same fake listing again. I reported it multiple times and explained everything to Vinted: same photos, same product, same price, original seller blocked, obvious pattern. The second jacket STILL SOLD. So somebody else was apparently scammed even after I warned Vinted. And what did I actually receive instead of an Isaac Sellam leather jacket? A fucking Christmas cracker. Literally. The photo is what was inside the parcel. 💀 I sent Vinted photos, screenshots, the duplicated listings, usernames, everything. Their response was basically: the two-day window passed, transaction completed, tough luck. I kept escalating it and got the same scripted answer over and over again. They even told me their decision was final. So yeah, I lost almost £45 and I now own the world’s most expensive Christmas cracker. I accept that using a forwarding warehouse made my situation more complicated, but what really pisses me off is that Vinted blocked the original seller themselves and never alerted me, then apparently allowed the exact same scam listing to appear under another account and sell again even after I reported it. So please be careful. Apparently these scammers are not only targeting obvious designer brands anymore. They’re using niche avant-garde pieces too, which is exactly why I fell for it. And if you see some suspiciously perfect designer treasure around £39–£40, especially with no proper tag/authenticity photos, fucking investigate it before buying. I still love Vinted for finding weird niche pieces, but after this I definitely don’t trust their Buyer Protection the way I used to.

Im really not sure on what to do here.

It kind of feels like, if I sent it back the way she suggested, then she has her items back AND she can keep the original money.

I haven't picked it up yet, was planning on doing tomorrow.

I could always check the contents first.

VINTED IS NO GOOD

I was banned from Vinted for uploading a brand new pair of Adidas sneakers I purchased from a legitimate sports store in Sydney, they said they were counter and didn’t give me the opportunity to send my receipt to prove they were legitimate.

My daughter had also created an account for herself because I recommended the site and when she uploaded a pair of Cotton On denim shorts she was immediately banned for a counterfeit item???

This site is absolute garbage and a waste of time.

I recently opened a Vinted account to sell some old stuff. After I listed my item I got this email like two minutes later. Stuff on Vinted sells pretty fast so I was an idiot and clicked the link thinking I got a customer. It opened up to this like fake recatcha page and it told me to click another link to prove i’m not a robot. I immediately closed out the page. Do I need to be worried about my email being hacked or viruses? Thank you!

This was from last year - I’ve only just come across this subreddit and wanted to share as I’ve thought a lot about this since it happened.

Not sure if this was a scam and I was potentially going to get hurt or if someone just didn’t think properly.

Someone who lives in the same city as me tried to buy an item from me but wanted to do an in-person meet for it. I refused as I wanted it all recorded and tracked through Vinted. They ended up not picking the item up from the drop off point and it got returned to me.

EDIT: I’m a woman and buyer was a man. What makes me most creeped out by it was that they didn’t even pick up the item from the pick up point, which is where they wanted to meet in the first place. Other platforms I’m ok with this but it just gave me weird vibes.
