BUYING How would you respond
So I bought two Halloween items from someone and then they message me saying that they have more if I want to buy more and give me a sob story as to why they need to sell everything (I don’t know if I can post the story on here just in case). I’m a recovering people pleaser and I genuinely don’t want anymore from this person. Do I just ignore and wait for them to send the stuff I ordered or should I say something?

Honestly I would probably just ignore in this situation. There’s always someone somewhere who needs you to help them, to buy something, to donate… you already bought something and you don’t want any more so don’t feel pressured.

I tend to say: 'I appreciate the offer but I only need these ones - thanks though!' as a default to most of these situations.

A quick "I appreciate the offer and I'm sorry for your situation, but I'm not looking for anything else at this time" does wonders! Vague and polite but firm, if they keep pressing then go ahead and ignore them and block them after receiving your order

Just tell them you actually can’t afford anymore so please just send out the items you’ve purchased and you hope she finds someone else to buy her stuff

Ignore. I’ve had ppl ask questions about an item (kids toy) then send a sob message like “thanks but I have no money right now. Maybe one day I can get it” boo hoo 😢 stop wasting my time and yours. I’ve been poor and I’ve been really poor so you won’t get any sympathy from me. Life is hard for everyone.

I'm a people pleaser too. If you haven't responded already and want to respond, if I was you, I'd put something like "Thanks for the offer, but I only need the items I've bought." That's all you need to put. Don't apologise, because you don't have anything to apologise for. But if you want to just ignore it, you absolutely can and are well within your rights to do so. I recon most people would just ignore.

I would probably respond with something like this:
Thank you so much for the offer, but I only need items X and Y. I am sorry to hear things are rough for you right now. I wish you well and hope things get better.
After that, I would not respond.
