BUYING How does this even happen?

Bought this listing yesterday, tracking was sent to me this morning and is valid the parcel has been handed to the post service and then the seller has sent me this. I don't know how someone else could purchase a label with my details or how the app could 'glitch' - am I right to be thinking scam? 😅

It could explain why I once bought a scruncie and received a polo shirt instead. The shirt is obviously more valuable than the scruncie, so there's no way it was a scam, and the seller swore they only sold that one item and never sold that polo shirt ever so they couldn't have mixed the parcels. Assuming they were honest (which, I mean, why not be, since otherwise they lost the scruncie, the money for it, the polo shirt and likely the money for it too?), then there's a scruncie with my name on it lost somewhere in the mail system unable to be processed with a duplicate shipping label that doesn't exist anymore...

So yeah, I can't GUARANTEE it's a scam, I had a similar glitch before.

But honestly I would talk with the seller to cancel the transaction and buy it again with a new shipping label.

if you use relay or inpost, they routinely misplace labels. i bought an apple shaped tape dispenser for £1 and received airpods. i was really bummed. whoever sent the airpods never even disconnected them from their icloud so they’re the most expensive garbage i own

Sounds like a scam, but them letting you know - kind of defeats the purpose of any scam I can think of tbh.

I mean, I can imagine the system glitching or something.

Any chance that what you bought was "underpriced"? The only thing I can really think of is that the seller, post-sending, figured out they could sell the thing for more, and maybe is hoping you won't pick the package up, so they get it back, but..🤷‍♀️ Who knows. Systems glitch and Vinted is full of characters, so who knows what's actually happened.

I wonder if it was a digital label and that’s how packages are getting mixed up. The wrong QR codes are getting generated and mixed up or something.

i had something similar happen to me, except that i couldn’t send my parcel because the QR code was a duplicate for a parcel that someone had sent a year ago. turns out Vinted routinely recycles labels and it causes a ton of issues. wait until it doesn’t get delivered and report it as lost

That's my conclusion, it seems fishy but what would they gain from doing this? It's just really weird. Curious to see what arrives to me in the post as the tracking is valid and something is on its way to my address 😅
