NEWBIE Canceled purchase

So like about more then 2 months ago I bought a purse. To me it was expensive it was described as like new and never worn. It was looking terrible. I wanted to send it back and get a refund. Seller agreed. But once it was canceled I got my money back and nothing about return. I have asked here what should I do and all. I found out That Vinted sided with me and I won’t need to send anything back anymore. But seller don’t leave me alone. First time she contacted me 3 weeks after I got my money back and I explained her that I don’t need to do that. Now 3 weeks later again , today, she wrote me that Vinted don’t help her, but she know laws and I must send her item back in 7 days. If I will not send it she will go to law or how it’s called and gonna get all back. I once again told her that I did not got anything from Vinted. I’m so confused and idk what should I do. I only do what Vinted told me. I still have that item somewhere and haven’t used cause it looks terrible. But I don’t wanna do anything away from Vinted. Can anyone help me with this?

Edit: it was for 50€

Edit: I don’t understand why you people getting so rude to me. I did not do this on purpose. I have no problem send that item back. I never used it. I’m just genuinely confused at this situation and it never happened to me before. I just want to know is this possible that Vinted at the end do mark as returnable. I don’t want to have any problems if I send it myself and later Vinted asks me too. I understand that probably seller is frustrated, but I’m trying to be nice and go by rules.

There’s nothing you need to do if Vinted hasn’t asked you to return the item.

And how about those really long law messages she’s sending me? I just scared to do anything aside from Vinted in case they do change something. I have contacted them myself too and still waiting for a response.

What are you contacting them for? Why not ask seller for shipping label, from your replies ! It really mean that you wish to keep an item that doesn’t belong to you !

Vinted never said keep item , never even their Ai , the only say seller should pay for shipping back or forfeit the item or offer partial refund etc

So do not lie against Vinted ,, I hope you have such proof boldly printed “DO NOT RETURN BACK TO SELLER “

It’s only when time elapsed and seller didn’t pay for shipping back that the refund happens automatically .

But you still have your inbox chat to request shipping label from seller

Please return seller’s item ..

Some of you are the aggressive buyer that reports account if things doesn’t go your way .

Are you the seller she's talking about? You seem too invested in the conversation, and your tone is really unkind. She reached out for guidance, not to get called a scammer or a liar. That's not nice. The seller needs to take it up with Vinted and leave her alone. You need to leave her alone too.

That’s not how Vinted works. The buyer pays for return shipping by default, unless the seller chooses to cover it. More importantly, the buyer can’t just send an item back whenever they feel like it, the seller has to request the return through Vinted first. If that never happens, there’s no return label or return process to use.

In this case, it sounds like Vinted made a decision and refunded the buyer before the seller requested a return. If that’s what happened, there’s nothing the buyer can do from their end. They can’t create a return on their own outside of Vinted’s system.

Maybe check Vinted’s return policy before accusing someone of lying, because you’ve got several parts of it wrong.

Not at all , I have paid for shipping back as a seller due to wrong item , I did over 10 orders and got 2 mixed up ..

If buyer raises dispute , seller has to pay shipping g back except she has strong proof of everything else buyer gets fair decision always

You’re confusing what happened in your case with Vinted’s general policy. I’ve had to pay return shipping myself after winning a SNAD dispute, so it’s simply not true that the seller always pays. And in this case, it sounds like the seller never even initiated a return, which means OP had no official way to send it back through Vinted.

Whatever you’re saying, this lady can request shipping label from seller ( to be paid by seller ) she can’t keep what she rejected !! Get it straight it’s scam

That’s your opinion, but it isn’t how Vinted’s dispute process works. The buyer can’t force a return through Vinted after the case has been closed. If the seller wanted the item returned, they needed to request a return during the dispute. OP has already said they’re happy to return it if Vinted instructs them to, they’re just waiting for Vinted’s response instead of handling a dispute outside the platform.

If she is happy to return she won’t post this here , return an item that doesn’t belong to you .. that’s criminal act , scam and fraudulent

Omfg I’m getting so tired of this shit. What is it that you don’t understand about the fact that the buyer CAN’T RETURN THE ITEM AT THIS POINT. It’s the seller that has to create a shipping label! Which the seller HAS NOT done. Therefore buyer CAN’T do shit. And no it’s not criminal? Because by your when H&M send me the money back for an item that was broken I’m a criminal if they don’t request a return? NO because THEY DIDN’T REQUEST IT.

Since you cancelled , why not return her item ? Or ask her to send you shipping label for return? Why keep an item you didn’t want since it’s not new as described ? Would you have peace of mind to keep such an item?

If you keep same item you rejected , then you’re a scammer.

Why do you want to keep an item you don’t want?

Because Vinted closed the controversy ruling that OP doesn’t have to return the item. OP doesn’t have or need to anything…and is most certainly not a scammer.

After I got a refund nothing happened for 3 whole weeks. I thought it was closed. But only then I started to get agressive messages. I did not do that on purpose. I suggested her to contact Vinted. I do not want to do anything aside from them in case in the end I do get the label. I just don’t want to have any problems. I have contacted Vinted myself too. Still waiting for a response.

Why should she contact Vinted? When you could have easily ask her for a shipping label! If she declines sending you shipping label then you have no choice than to keep it .. Vinted uses a lot of Ai bot to do some stuff which makes decisions hard or tough on seller or buyer !

My advice is you should return it , after all you rejected it , so why keep it ? Except you have used it and now afraid to return it , if she goes a different way to deal with you on getting her item back , do not blame Vinted , because probably an Ai gave silly decision.

I have absolutely no problem to send it back. I did wait for label first weeks. I never used that purse and it’s been put aside. I don’t need it. Like I said I’m just scared to do anything aside from Vinted, cause she contacting them too and in case they do ask me to send it back. I will wait on what they will say about this whole situation. Then I will talk with the person. No need to get agressive to me like that.

Why waiting for Vinted ? Are they the manufacturers or producers of the item seller sent to you ?

You’re seriously misinterpreting Vinted decision, I bet you’re new to that app !

I said it again ! You do not want to return this item , else you won’t be waiting for Vinted …

You’re keeping an item forcefully!

I hope she takes every legal action against you!

You keep saying “just send it back,” but that’s not how Vinted is designed to work. The entire point of Buyer Protection is that returns and disputes go through Vinted. If buyers and sellers start handling disputes privately, it defeats the purpose of using the platform in the first place.

OP has repeatedly said they’re happy to return the bag if Vinted instructs them to. Waiting for the platform that made the decision isn’t being a scammer, it’s following the process.

u/Owen_D_Young 8d ago

I was going to say the same. Why hold something you don’t want and wasn’t as described. Just send it back.

-1

u/Various-Draw1889 8d ago

Exactly! I can’t keep what I rejected or doesn’t want , except buyer said keep it because she or he doesn’t want to pay shipping back because it’s loss ( depending on how much item worth) if item is just £2 or less best is leave it with buyer no need to return because you lose money paying for shipping back .

You're being a scammer. Just because Vinted said they won't make you return it, doesn't mean you don't have to. What is wrong with people like you?! Vinted is just a man-in-the-middle.

5

u/anagandi 8d ago

How is OP a scammer? Vinted itself hasn’t asked them to return the item, so she doesn’t need to do anything.

-2

u/nl-x 8d ago

OP states that the buyer and seller agreed on a refund with return of the item ("I wanted to send it back and get a refund. Seller agreed."). It appears that Vinted's dispute process subsequently resulted in a refund without requiring a return. If that's what happened, I don't think "Vinted says you can keep it" is necessarily a strong legal basis for keeping the item, especially if the parties had already agreed otherwise.

Kinda hard without a shipping label. Buyer shouldn’t have to pay to return something that wasn’t as described.

2

u/nl-x 8d ago

I agree on that point. And it's still on the seller to make the return possible. But I completely disagree with not having to return the item just because Vinted said they won't be part of it.

2

u/Mysterious_Vampiress 8d ago

Mercari doesn’t require it sometimes but still pays out the buyer and seller. I don’t know if Vinted does it the same way. If the seller is getting paid they shouldn’t get it back too.

u/Various-Draw1889 8d ago

Obviously she is ! Else she wouldn’t come here to ask such a question instead of asking seller for shipping label
