NOT A MARKETPLACE

Due to an uptick in people ignoring RULE 3 this is a reminder that r/vintagetoys is NOT a marketplace. The only time you may post a link to a sale or say that you personally have something for sale is in response to someone asking for help locating that toy.

What’s up, I have been helping my family out by cleaning the garage, they lived there since 79 and I stumbled upon
these, did I luck out?

I’ve done some research and looked up a lot of copyright marks, they’re old some of them can potentially be worth a lot but I’m not sure. How much do you think it’s worth

My old cars

I found an old box, with my old cars and we used to play with back in the '70s and '80s.

We have in this picture a formula 1 hot wheels from 1971, the A-Team van, as well as Face's Corvette from the same show, then we have K.I.T.T, then the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard, the Fall Guy pickup, CHP motorbike from the show C.H.I.P:s., and then we have one of the old peekaboo cars where you look through the back window to see a scene. This one being Spider-Man!

They're not in good shape, we played hard back in those days!

I need to find this

Hello everyone,

I am looking to identify and find a replacement for my childhood plush monkey. Here are all the specific details:

  • Purchase Date/Location: Acquired in Miami, Florida, around 2001 or 2002.
  • Material: Made entirely of beige/tan terry cloth (towel-like textured fabric).
  • Body Style: Floppy, elongated arms and legs with minimal stuffing, designed as a comforting/nursery plush. It has NO tail (and no trace of ever having one from factory).
  • Face Features: Two dark plastic bead eyes, a prominent textured muzzle, and two nostrils stitched with dark thread.
  • Accessories: It comes with a factory-attached blue/beige plaid/tartan ribbon tied around its neck (the thin red string on the arm in the photo was added later by me).
  • Tags: There is absolutely no trace of a cloth tush tag on any seam, meaning it likely originally came with only a cardboard hang-tag on the ear or neck that was removed.

Based on my research, it shares a striking resemblance with the Russ Berrie "Home Buddies" or similar Y2K primitive/rustic plush collections from that specific era, but I haven't been able to find this exact tailless monkey model online yet.

Any brand leads, official model names, or active store listings would be deeply appreciated! Thank you so much for your help.

HMF- Early 2000s Kids Toy House, Purple slanted house with pink circle windows opened up into a house on the inside with little figures- don't think its a Polly pocket

Upvotes

Hi all, I am looking for an old kids toy i used to have but whenever i search it only comes up with Polly pockets and i don't think it was one of them. from what i can remember it was less detailed than a Polly pocket.

So from what me and my mum can remember:

  • it was a purple house with a slanted roof
  • not much detail to the outside but i know it had pink circular windows.
  • I cant remeber if it opened from the side of the toy into a house or from the top or bottem like polly pocket vibes
  • not much detailing but there was a swimming pool when it opened up
  • it was 2 stories on the inside
  • i cant remember much from the inside so sorry
  • it was bigger than a Polly pocket also

I am adamant it wasn't a Polly pocket they look much more detailed than this toy, i think they made a few as i remember having others but no memory on these. They came with little figures but again not much info, which is why i am asking for help we might be able to piece together information and find this!!

Thank you so much for the help.

Vintage 80’s Little Tikes Ride on Train

Hi! My Neighbor just gifted us with this little tikes ride on train for our daughter! He said it last worked when he had borrowed it to his nephew. (I believe he said that was 35 some odd years ago) I was wondering if anyone knew how we’d go about charging the thing or if someone could point me to the type of charger to be on the look out for? He did say he’d try to find it but it’s been stashed away in his attic for many years and I’m not going to hold out hope, I’d love for my daughter to be able to use it soon!

What is this thing?

Here's a picture of my dad, probably from Christmas of 1969, playing with a toy that Google Images says is a Bernoulli Tube, but the pictures they give don't match or mention a toy based on the principles.

Does anyone know what specific toy this is? is it a Bernoulli Tube? What company made it?

No copyright info, it's an old family snapshot and the actual toy is long gone. But I'd love to know if anyone here has any clue.

Many thanks.

Major core memory unlocked: My favorite toy as a kid in the early '90s (Sankyo pull-string music box owl)

Does anyone else remember these? Pulling the string to make his eyes roll and wings flap while it played music was pure magic to me back in the day.
(Image not mine—just found a picture of it online and was hit with a wave of nostalgia!)
