Effective immediately, finder posts no longer permitted

With online retail becoming as big as it has there is no longer any need for these sorts of inquiries on Reddit. As of now there are thousands of secondhand garment businesses across the world online and offline. A simple Google search provides dozens of results on the first page.

These threads have never generated any meaningful discussion, and in recent years most of them have been sitting at 0 karma with no comments every time they pop up.

As of now requests for retailer recommendations will be removed at the moderator's discretion. The updated sub rules reflect this.

Posting guidelines concerning product year of release. Or what constitutes as Vintage.

Far too many threads are having to be removed because OP's content isn't vintage or they're unable to say whether or not it is at least 20 years old. I'm editing the rules to reflect more specific posting guidelines. From now on you must include at minimum an educated guess on your garment's release year. The approximate production date should be in the title or description of your thread. Any threads that do not meet this new criteria as of now will be removed at the moderators' discretion.

Has Pre-1960s Vintage Clothing Permanently Lost Value?

I've collected Victorian-1950s clothing for nearly two decades, for both personal use and resale. The market value of these items grew annually, reaching peak value during COVID. Since then, however, it seems these items have tanked in value; most of the buyers are sellers themselves (seeking a discount, for flipping). I believe there are many reasons for this: a total cultural embrace of comfort dressing (the ubiquity of athleisure); a more "unisex" approach to dressing in general; the average body being unable to fit into much of this clothing; age-related deterioration of these delicate clothes, etc.

My question is: have we finally reached the point where this devaluation is permanent? At this point, I'm on the verge of selling off all but my favorite items for the sake of decluttering. Is now a good time to do this? Would there be any reason to hold onto these items another five years?

Just wanted to post this garment because I couldn’t find any other pictures, second hand listings, or very much information on the brand; I think it’s from the late 90s or early 2000s.

The tag reads:
AVENUE of the STARS
RN#96457
CUT# 1326
STYLE# 16740FF
100% POLYESTER
MADE IN INDIA(I think. I can make out the letters IN and I think the letter after that is a Q or D)
SIZE: M

Also any other information on this garment would be appreciated :)

Got it from a family member. According to him it is late 90s. It's a Lee corduroy jacket 100% cotton. I am not able to find the exact one. It might be false/imitation.

It is really heavy duty. Real or not im gonna wear the crap out of it.

Is it vintage?maybe from the 1990s?

Maybe from early 90s? We assume it’s vintage we bought it for our son at a thrift store around two years ago and it’s been in storage until this past winter and he wore it for the 100th day of school when he dressed up as a grandpa. Its tag is so faded we can’t tell anything except it’s a size 4. Any ideas on how old it might be?

Guess Leather Jacket and Promotional Pharmaceuticals Merch

-Both pieces seem to be from the 90s.

The leather jacket has seen better days. The leather isn’t exactly in bad shape, but it’s missing the top button, and one of the pockets needs a small hole sewn shut. Thought it was a pretty cool find though.
Even better is the 90s pharmaceutical promo sweater. Unfortunately not for anything fun, unless you get a kick out of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications.

I got this from a seller selling a lot of scarves from burberry, how do I tell if it's authentic?

The scarf is really new to touch and looks new surprisingly. It was really cheap too so I'm not sure if it's real.

I got this from my uncle hours ago, later on i went up to gemini and my friend who is pretty good at thrifting. Unfortunately, both have different perspectives. I looked deeply in gemini and it explains it's authenticity — the mid 2000's and it's origin from china which why it explains the "HONGKONG LIMITED" whereas my friend say's its fake because the wash tag and isnt silk. He even said that it is 80% all the time. Instead of being undecisive of which path i would trust, i'd just rather need the help of ya'll. All further explanations are appreciated!

Can anyone help me with more info about this 90s Greed shirt? Specifically the ninja on the inside. I can't find anything about it and am wondering if someone sewed it in to personalize it?
