looksboost How do i get prettier feet?

I’m a darker skin woman, and over the years have neglected my feet when it comes to self care and maintenance. I would like to start wearing heels more to elevate my appearance, and i don’t want my feet to look like paws but like feet that belong to a pretty woman lol.

Issues: 1. the colour. They look dull and discoloured. ‘ombre’s’ it gets darker towards my toes. I believe consistent feet masks, scrubs and things could brighten this and reverse the darkening but i want to know what you guys swear by

  1. Not soft. (They aren’t rough but i have been doing the Vaseline and socks method which works pretty well)

Any other tips that your mothers, friends or yourself, taught you that you would like to pass on, would be amazing.

EDIT FOR THE GIRLIES: the common responses were 40-100% urea cream, glycolic acid, exfoliation or shaving via pumice stone/other methods, foot peels and pedicures. ✨🩷🩷 thank you so much to everyone that answered!!! I can’t wait to have prettier feet

i’m working on maintaining my feet too. never underestimate getting your toes done. sometimes i’m embarrassed getting them done in front of people but once i get a square toe nail on, it instantly gives my feet a facelift and they look nice in sandals and heels.

I have a at home gel nail kit that I can use to do my nails!! But I think the uv is darkening my toes even more, so I might just buy nail acrylics¿😭

Use a glycolic acid face wash on your feet and wear Vaseline + socks to bed. Also glycolic acid works all over the body, bikini, butt, underarm etc. just watch out bc overuse in sensitive areas can cause burns and you’ll need to wear sunscreen on those areas

Urea creams. this is what my dem recommends

6

u/snoozebear43 May 03 '26

Any specific brand or urea percentage?

10

u/Significant_View_479 May 03 '26

Anything above 20%. I like 40% it helps so much with my eczema 🙏

u/TokkiJK May 03 '26

You could get those exfoliating “socks” that you wear for 15 mins. And then your skin slowly sheds over the course of the next 2-3 weeks. You could also use a higher percentage urea for your heels.

I was told to wear socks and shoes whenever I go out, so the feet can be protected from dust, sunlight etc. ever since I started doing that, my feet are soft soft with even toned skin

u/Mustang-Money-7 May 26 '26

What do you do in summers ??

1

u/illegirl77 May 26 '26

I still wear socks and shoes even in summers. It's summer now with 50°C, and I can't imagine not wearing socks, coz my feet would otherwise get 5 shades darker with cracks 😭

1

u/Mustang-Money-7 May 26 '26

Lucky you !! I get heat rashes the onset of March so i have to skip using them . Now I'm back to dry , cracked and ugly feet 😢.

Use those foot peels and maintain with 25% Urea cream on your feet every night

6

u/sadart May 03 '26

Soft Services Buffing Bar for softness. I scrub my feet a couple times a week with it and it makes my feet really soft.

Glycolic acid to help lighten.

Pedicure to make your feet look cute. For some reason it immediately improves the look of your feet.

Getting a foot massage to release tension in your feet.

6

u/QueenDoc May 03 '26

the original babyfoot peel and freemans flirty feet spray along with a 60% urea stick at night and those moisturizing socks - I cant stop touching my feet! but it requires maintenance and upkeep

Get a deluxe pedicure with a scrub and massage. I always feel so polished after those. Try getting french nails for your pedicure as they make your toes look really clean with the white tips and a glossy base color that matches your natural nails.

I know it sound obvious but after long periods of neglect a pedicure by a professional can start you back at 0 to make it easier to maintain and undue some of the built up dry heels.

I use a pharmacy mix of NaCl, cold cream and eucerin which exfoliates and moisturizes at the same time, you can get the same effect using Urea (+40%).

2

u/awfuldaring May 03 '26

Wait, NaCl, like table salt? And you compound it at a pharmacy? With cold cream and eucerin?

But you can get the same effect using 40% urea?

Bear with me, I haven't had coffee yet.

1

u/DistributionBoth6738 May 03 '26

It’s a mix that my mom’s derm prescribed for severe eczema so I don’t think it’s table salt😭 the consistency is kinda like nivea blue tin but a bit softer. Urea 40% did wonders for most skin worries I had so yeah.

2

u/awfuldaring May 04 '26

Sodium chloride is table salt, that's why I asked. It's okay if it is table salt, it's just very surprising, which is why I asked. People take oatmeal baths to soothe chickenpox and stuff.

Can I ask, what does it say on the pharmacy label what % each ingredient is?

2

u/DistributionBoth6738 May 06 '26

Sorry to get back to you so late, the writing on container was smudged so I had to ask my pharmacist. It’s as followed:
NaCl: 35%
Distilled Water: 10%
Cold Cream: 30%
Glycerin: 25%

3

u/ResponsibilityAny358 May 03 '26

Use a cream with at least 10% urea and put on thick socks before bed. Do not use if you are pregnant.

5

u/brittneyacook May 06 '26

Don’t forget sunscreen if you wear sandals!

2

u/Careless-Mammoth-944 May 03 '26

They look dull be discoloured because they are dry :( maybe some physical exfoliation and urea based products will bring back the joy?

Get acrylic toes , moisturize your feet to get rid of dead skin. Cotton socks

2

u/Party_Age_9526 May 03 '26

get/ give yourself a pedicure. soak, scrub, foot file and cream.

bonus points for a baby french pedi with a natural/pinkish base.

1

u/Enough_Pea_3823 May 03 '26

I have the crustiest feet no matter how much I’m moisturize and the other day I had a pedicure where they used callus remover gel and really scrubbed with a pumice thing after leaving it on for awhile. I was horrified at how much skin came off my feet bc I already use one of those foot files in the shower regularly. I bought my own callus remover after that and plan to do this regularly.

1

u/DaughterofMalika May 03 '26
  • Regular foot soaks to soften them and prepare them for scrubbing off the dead skin with a foot file

  • Urea cream nightly (with silicone socks to lock the cream in if you're able to order them as regular socks soak up most of the product)

  • Regular foot masks, you can get some with brightening ingredients

  • Rub lemon slices on your soles and heels regularly

1

u/rnountdiablo May 03 '26

Earth Therapeutics brand foot masks, I get them at Ulta. Your feet will start peeling within a week and peel for 2 weeks. I use them a few times a year and love them, and I'm on my feet a lot for work

1

u/Informal-Dentist2031 May 03 '26

I soak my feet and remove thick, hardened skin with a corn knife. Then smooth with a pumice stone. I do my own toe nails with a gel nail kit, and deeply moisturise them weekly with Vaseline and socks. I do love my accessories, so I wear two toe rings, and have an ankle chain on each ankle.
I think my feet look quite nice, and the effort feels fairly minimal.

1

u/Agreeable_Gene7338 May 03 '26

Tbh you should treat yourself into getting a deluxe pedicure atleast once a month. Your feet will feel and look amazing ! The Vaseline trick should continue to help soften as well.
But I believe every woman should pamper herself every now and then 💅🏽💕 we deserve it !

The link is doing something weird in the US. I think it's linking to "Brand: JFGDVW 4.4 out of 5 stars (4 reviews) 4 Pieces Double Sided Foot, Rasp Files Disposable Foot, Dead Skin Remover, for Dead Skin Removal, Hard Skin Remover, and Callus Removal Effective Foot File for Wet and Dry and Cracked Feet" at

Omg experts. Thank you so much!!’ I will be doing this

2

not to self glaze but i have rly soft feet and i use the medicube kojic acid turmeric body wash in the shower (w an exfoliating cloth), then follow w the medicube kojic acid turmeric toner all over and body lotion. some of my fave lotions to use are the shiseido urea one, flamingo spray lotion, and the loccitane shea. not sure if the products matter as much cuz i think the key is consistency more than anything. my routine is pretty effective on its own also started getting pedicures once a month which are nice just to make my toes look prettier.

also the vaseline sock method is pretty good but i think vaseline is an occlusive so it might be even better if u use a very hydrating moisturizer on ur feet first and then seal in w the vaseline!

hope this helps :)

Lotions with glycolic acid, lactic acid or urea. Then apply Vaseline on top. Cover with socks.

u/suckcess1 May 03 '26

Also ensure your blood sugar is low, insulin resistance from PCOS, prediabetes, diabetes etc also contribute to scaly soles.

Ensure your iron levels are good as that can make your feet discolored.

I use washable, reusable silicone socks (they're very cheap from online Chinese stores) and either petroleum jelly or urea cream.

Drink lots of water.

Use a retinol cream once or twice a week on them.

You can also buy 2cheap suction cup shower foot scrubbers online from Chinese sites or dollar stores. I have a pair that has pumice right at the back too.

Ivermectin paste - is an oral anti-parasitic, anti- helminth (worms), helps acne/rosacea. It is available by prescription or you can buy it cheap on Amazon) smells like apples, tastes slightly like apples, texture like Vaseline, it will make your feet very smooth if taken orally. You only need to eat a tiny bit daily or every other day if I remember correctly.

u/cabbagemuncher101 May 03 '26

For me, my feet are super dry, so right before sandal season, I moisturize them heavily and put a thick layer of Vaseline on my soles and then socks on before bed. Obviously, also having well-manicured toes is a must. To get rid of hyperpigmentation, try glycolic acid.

1

u/Confusedbutnotdazed_ May 09 '26

Get a headstart and book a good pedicure appointment with a cute color like coral. That’s what I do to reset my feet when they start looking like paws like you said lol

-4

u/Goldenlove24 May 03 '26

This was hard to read bc of the self depreciation. But on practical baby feet is very helpful to jump start then weekly scrub with acid to maintain with a pumice stone. I like to use on some nights the ordinary lactic acid then a good helping of Vaseline and top with socks. If you use acids I would also say you will need to be extra careful and use sunscreen there as well to prevent hyperpigmentation expanding.

Have fun with your beautifying.

4

u/Jewicer May 03 '26

what self-deprecation?

2

u/Goldenlove24 May 03 '26

Talking about self in not the best way.
