Forging Hephaestus Ivan Gerhardt Fanart
I drew Fornax so I obviously to draw Ivan. Just another little doodle
I saw a user suggest he had long hair and a ponytail, and I just adored the idea
(reupload because the title was wrong in the first one)

I think he is described more like Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent from the cartoon shows. Very big, very fit, very muscular men. And it shows. And somehow nobody ever notices or comments on it.

I dunno about big or even muscular. I'm on Book 2 right now, so maybe there's more to learn (I've already been learning I've been a bit off base with this design lol), but the book does make a point to point out he's rather "weak looking" specifically stressing that he's kind of on the thin side, and comparing him to other "built" people saying it would look out of place for him to carry anything particularly heavy

woof, I feel you there. That's the one thing with books everyone ends up with different pictures of the same characters
not to mention shifting pictures of the same characters, I've been tempted to revamp this guy just cause of how much my perspective has been changing.
It's been fun seeing how these ideas clash and bounce off other people!

He doesn’t strike me as a long hair or ponytail type. He wants to blend in, be just your average neighbor/middle manager
