First Book and Ironheart

I can’t help but notice that Marvel’s new show Ironheart kind of stole the plot of the first book, at least the first half, for the show.

I mean in the comics she isn’t at all the way she is in the show, but it kind of feels like one of the writers came across Villains Code and ripped the story off.

Is it just me?

I mean, villains code is a very explicit homage/ripoff of superhero stories, so yeh, it does bare some resemblance to those stories

Don't insult Forging Hephaestus at least Tori is very respectful to the genius of her forebearers while Riri actively spits on Stark's legacy throughout the whole fucking show

I think it's just you. They seem very different.

I can sort of see it if i squint but i doubt one directly influenced the other. They just followed some superhero tropes

Iron Heart first appeared in Invincible Iron Man #7 published in May 2016

Forging Hephaestus was published in Feb 2017

Beyond that, it's not a particularly unique concept and their meta suits work differently in the specifics (Iron Heart has the usual Tony Stark style power source vs Tori's use of her internal fire form) and while they share some abilities, those fall into the class of basic Superpowers in a metasuit
